can anyone explane how to remove the cat on the LLY without having to cut it up so I can install my downpipe? I want to save the cat for emission testing in the future. I tryed with no sucess. It looks like the crossmember has to be removed.
Thanks

No the crossmember does not need to be removed. Use a lift or at the least jack the front end up until the tires are almost off the floor, unbolt the hanger bracket from the transmission, slide bracket off hanger(WD40 helps), loosen the V-clamp, remove the 4 nuts from converter flange, then twist and turn the pipe out, the V-clamp end must come out first. It's tight but positioned correctly it comes right out.

Once you get it unbolted & the front of the pipe dropped down, rotate it about 90 degrees, & keep wiggling & sliding it towards the front of the truck. It should drop right out. I thought I would have to pry mine out between the torsion bar & the frame, but keep going forward where there is more clearance.
