My mother said her 2001 Olds is making noises... She described it as a "Funny clunky noise  " when she turns left. My first guess is CV Joint. Any seond opinions? Unfortunatley her van is in NY and I'm in MO so I can't make any firsthand observations...
Edit: Van has about 51K

I second the tie rod ends. I have replaced both on my wifes van. 51,000 miles, tell your mom to start saving for an intake gasket replacement. My wifes went at 60,000 and it took me 10 hrs to replace it with a sore back and legs for a couple days. GB

unfortunately you dont usually hear the loose tie rod ends. id look more at control arm bushings or steering rack. but if tie rod ends are loose get them fixed thats a safety matter.
