Gang,

I am looking at purchasing either the Big Tex 70PI tandem axle or a Top Hat MA (medium angle) tandem.

both are 6.5 X 16 FT, trailer brakes GCVW 7000lb, full wrap tongue.

Top hat additionally includes slide in 5 ft ramps, set back jack

Top hat $1700 ; Big Tex $1895

The shop here that sells the Top Hat is not full service, ie nothing done on site only sales. they contract out warranty work.

I have only good things about Big Tex, both seem built very well.

Any one have opinions ? I am purchasing on friday so quick feedback would be nice http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I am not familiar with top hat, but I never had any problems with my Big Tex.

Do not buy it without 5200lb axles. It will cost you a bit more but you get much better axles, tire and brakes and when you have a 2 ton or so load on it it will be loafing too. In my book 3500 axles have no bussiness under any trailer that may be used to carry fullsize cars or trucks as they are about maxed out when loaded and sometimes overloaded as well which is not a safe place to be.
