This might be a dumb question, but does my 04 lb7 have an egr valve?? I have heard that it might, if so what does it do. Thanks

Since we are on the subject i just did the EGR plate and finger stick setup. I put a gasket and the plate on and it still has the the slightest bubbles, i put soap on it to see if it leaked. Can't feel it but when i put the soap on you can see just the slightest bubbles come out closest to the drivers side, other side is great. I wrenched on those nuts as much as it would allow me to under there. So what should i do or will that hurt anything? Thanks

On the LB7 Duramax trucks, the only ones that should have the EGR valve would be the trucks with California Emissions. If the truck has Federal Emissions, there should not be a EGR valve. If you dont know what emission system you have, a GM dealer should be able to tell you with your VIN number.
