Hi I am working on my new truck. It is a 1994 chevrolet k3500 with a 6.5TD. I was wondering if there is a way to bench test the IP to see if the shaft seals are leaking. I was thinking if by putting fuel pressure to it and jumping the shut off selenoid I would be able to see if it need rebuilding. Reason being there is diesel fuel ending up in my oil in about 15 mins of warm up and 1/2 mile or so down the road and back I am seeing about an 1/8 rise on the dipstick. Only suspecting the IP because of the volume of contamination. Would a leaky injector dump that much fuel in the oil?

Should be able to see that by pulling the waterpump off - Diesel fuel should wash a clean trail down the inside of the timing cover.
See the 'rebuilt 6.5 - low oil pressure' thread for preview.

Well GMCTD I have found my problem. I was getting so much diesel in the oil because #2 cylinder was not running at all. I went to do a leak down test on my engine and found 50-60% leakage on three cylinders through the intake valves. I thought that was odd so I double checked to make sure the valves were fully closed and found the intake valve on #2 not moving. Turns out the little plastic button broke and the rocker fell off.

How many miles on the motor?

Good - odd, but good.
Do all 16 of them while you're into it - the ones on the turbo side are the worst.

The truck has 183,000 miles on it but I am not sure about the motor. The heads are definately not 6.5 heads. Unless someone changed the pre-cups. Not sure about the bottom end though.
