I am fairly new to this diesel performance and I just purchased my new lly diesel recently, I have a K&N filter and I was going to put on the lly motor but, I wasn't sure how much increase in power I would get with jusat the filter right now. A friend told me about the hypertech programer but, said that it can only be used on one truck only, is this true??
Any info is greeatly appreciated
Thanx

You will not gain 1 single HP from your K&N filter on a Turbo diesel.
Read this thread and you might reconsider using that K&N filter. It is a long read but worth it. http://dieselplace.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10642
As far as I know hypertech doesn't make a programmer yet for the LLY. hypertech isn't very popular around here. Most will agree that you will be much farther ahead with a box like the Edge juice. www.edgeproducts.com (http://www.edgeproducts.com) or TTS tow tune www.ttspowersystems.com (http://www.ttspowersystems.com)
The hypertech can only be used on 1 truck at a time. If you remove the tune from the first truck, you can use it in a second truck.
Got Juice?

Ditch the K&N. I was a longtime believer, but after the airfilter results thread it appears that OEM paper or an AFE progaurd7 would be the best.
Intakes by themselves add 0 HP
Exhausts by themselves add 0 HP
Both will reduce EGT's on a stock or modded motor though.
As far as Chips go, there are better 'bang for the buck' products out there than hypertech.
In no particular order of preference:
Edge Products Juice with attitude monitor (Great power maker, on the fly adjustability, trans protection and GAUGES!)(adds 30-180RWHP)
Banks Six Gun Decent performer by all accounts, but you will need to get gauges.(adds 50-120 RWHP)
Quadzilla performance stealth programmer/Bully dog power pup good power makers, no tranny monitoring, not adjustable on the fly, you will need to get gauges.(adds 60-180 RWHP)
VanAAken technologies smart box.. tranny monitoring usually 3 selectable power levels (0-70-150) You will need to get gauges
TTS Power systems by Steve Cole Claims to fame IIRC are selectable power levels, custom tunes on request 3 in total. I am not as familiar with his products but members here report good power increases and very smooth operation.. Contact Steve with your needs and he will point you in the right direction.
Talk to other members via PM or do a search on all these products.
Look at what others are running on their truck in their signatures and what they do with their trucks.
Ask questions, there are no dumb answers here!
