Ok, I have been toying with the idea of getting a programmer for my LBZ for a while. I am leaning towards the hypertec because of bang for the buck. I have a few questions for you hypertec owners and owners of other tuners can chime in as well with what they have and their opinion.

I am looking for a tuner to increase power and mileage some, but not radically. I want to be able to fix the tire size and raise the speed limiter. I don't want to have to mod the allison. I am also interested in finding out if it makes the motor noisy or anything.

As far as these criteria, I was thinking the hypertec. My other concern is the ability for the dealer to tell that there has been a program as opposed to something like the edge.

Any input would be great.

Edge Evolution not much more than the "hype" r tech considering you get built in gauges and engine monitoring. Look it up on the edge web site for specs.
By far the best "bang for the buck"

I too thought the hypertech was the best bang, but the tech support from hypertech on the allison shifting issues sucks with them. im sending mine back and probably getting the Edge EVO.

I have the hypertech and i have not had any problems. It has worked well for me i leave it on stage 3. I too will probably look into the edge also, just for the simple fact that it has a display for egts.
just my 2cents

Where are you finding Edge for around $300. I certainly can't find it for that price.

supporting vendors
Extreme diesel performance $411 shipped
Thoroughbred diesel $425 shipped

You get a programmer, gauges, monitor, code reader/reset, timer for 1/4 mile,0-60 etc., great support and one fast diesel. I'd say best bang for the buck. Call first as they are selling FAST! Like I said before this deal is like a sore d***. You just can't beat it!
go to edge's site and read up on it lot's of good features.

Hypertech $300
Boost and egt gauges $250

Hypertech lost me as a customer due to poor support and bad customer service. You cannot upgrade a Hypertech.
They wanted $250 to replace the programmer for my 01 to my 06.
