Went to my buddy's this sat. and took him for a ride to show off the mods. All was going well then I set the SG to level six, spun a U turn and was accelerating when it hit 3rd it wouldn't shift any higher and the check engine light came on. Pulled over let it sit for a minute, shut down then restarted. Took off all shifted fine but the cel stayed on, let it idle for about 15 min or so while I hosed out the bed and the light went out. Could the cel be from the MAF sensor? Do I need to tone it down or get one of those finger stick thingys. I'm new to all this so any insight will help. Oh and the tranny thing? Could it be the SG cranked back the power? I'm a little confused and slightly concerned.

hard to tell without trouble codes. My guess would be a fuel filter though. It could have been the SG defueling....but it shouldn't have thrown a light.

You shouldn't be running in levels 5 and 6 w/Speedloader with a stock tranny.

Fuel filter is new*(less than 4000 mi), if I limped the tranny wouldn't I have to have a programmer or somthin to re set it? Not on it's own?
Fortunately I haven't installed the speed loader yet so it was just the SG solo.
Should I worry or just take it easy and try not to do that again :D

trans resets with key on off cycle. Code will be p0700 probably and will stay for IIRC 40 cycles. I do not have a trans still so I try to take it easy most of the time.

Well if you don't have a tranny I guess you have take it real easy:p: j/k
Thanks for the info and peace of mind, guess I'll try to behave myself a little:rolleyes:
What does IIRC stand for? I am soooo new:o:

i would go with limped tranny...and it will reset the trans after you shut the truck off for a few seconds IIRC if i recall?

Yeah, but normally you get a "shift range inhibited" on the DIC when you limp the tranny. Most of the time it will shift into 4th, but not 5th. Although, I guess it would depend on what gear you were in when you limped it. It is possible for a fuel filter to be clogged, but maybe it is the dreaded P1093 code too. If the MAF sensor is showing too much flow, it could have done the same...overboost codes never backed down for me...just a light. Without the code being read it will be hard to have a direction to go.

No DIC, just odo, trip, and hour. The light hasn't come back on since and she's shifting fine now.

When mine is on 5 or 6 it does the same thing. I can floor it in 1st and 2nd but third it seems like it just doesent want to go in. doesent feel like mine is slipping and no limp code on the banks! (i do have like 15000 on the fuel filter- guess that might have somethin to do with it!!)
