I'm new to the sight, and I got to say you guys are great, I’ve only just started looking around and there is a ton of info here. Ok to my problem.

#1 I have a fuel leak that is coming from some where near the back of my engine. The bottom of the bell housing is wet and the fuel is dripping in my parking lot, the smell is strong in the cabin when sitting at traffic lights. The truck is running well and it tends to leak more when it is off than when running. It’s a 01 2500HD CC 4x4, w/ 94k. I had the injectors reworked by a dealer at 50k (Recall "Service Advisory"). The fuel filter is only 5k old and is clean. The leak is somewhere I can't see with out taking the top of the engine apart. Any ideas where this is coming from?

#2 I have had my tuck for three years and I have no idea how the power brakes work. Where do they get their assistance? The reason I ask is my truck died today as I came to a stop at a light, it took priming the engine and 10 min of turning it over to get it to crank, ran fine after that. Could this be related?

Sounds like you could have a cp3 issue ie fuel leaking in valley rolling down back of motor.NLDP

#1, First, I would make sure there's not fuel in the crankcase. Then check the hose connection area above the ds valve cover. There are two hoses there. If thats not it I would check the injector return line out of the cylinder head. It is going to be hard to get to. It is on the rear inward corner of the head, just below the valve cover. There are also several places on top of the engine that could be the problem, with the fuel running to the back of the engine in the valley as NLDP said.

#2 The power steering pump supplies the power assist.

it could be a leaking fuel rail. i had that happen on my 02 when it was new. the rail was leaking on top of the engine and the fuel would run down the engine and onto the ground. truck ran fine. if its the rail you can see it if you look at it next to the valve covor and see if that valley is wet.

Wasn't the 01's that had loose fuel pressure sensors on drivers side rail and lines.I know he has alot of miles but its possible.

Well I took off the cover and the in and out hoses from the turbo. There is a pool of fuel in the valley but I still can't tell where the leak is from. Most of the fuel lines were still covered up.

How many of the fuel components are covered under the extended warantee? I hate taking my truck to the dealer unless the work is going to be free!!!

I did have another question... What is the sensor just inside the intake, looks like a spring?
