I'm about to purchase a Duramax but the maximum torque that the stock Allison will handle is around 700 ft/lbs. After that you have to pull the transmission and add a Transgo kit (~$300 self install) and possibly a torque convertor (~$1200).
What is the maximum torque that the stock TorqueShift transmission will handle? Also, what is the entry level upgrade to the transmission and how much additional torque will it handle? What is that cost?
Thanks for your help.

From what one knowledgeable power mod developer stated, the stock Torqueshift has less torque margin than the stock Allison. Might be good to do a search on this topic.

Yeah, searching would be good. TheDieselStop forum doesn't have any searching functionality. http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
That fact alone makes me want to buy a Duramax instead.
Although... I would like to talk to the owners of this forum about the broken search feature. I'm unable to search on multiple words with a logical AND.
It [does] show an "All Words" option but it really just does a string search on whatever you enter. Searching on "juice attitude" should return all posts with those two words located anywhere in the post but what you get is the posts where someone has typed "juice attitude" (four posts total).
Anyway, I guess I'll have to register on TheDieselStop and ask the question if someone here doesn't know.

Doh. If you register on TheDieselStop they let you search. And... searching on multiple words works great.
Still couldn't find it though. I posted the question there and will report back here with the results.
