after installing a autometer boost gauge i have noticed that it reads about 1.5-2psi lower then the gauge built into my edge/alt. which one is right and which is more accuret, i am guessing the autometer one?
also would this cause my truck to make lower boost pressure then it should cause i can only get to maybe 18psi floored uphill on level 5 toboot

I would guess the autometer is more accurate. I had the same thing with my edge when I had it. It would always show boost, even when I let off the pedal. The autometer gauge is an actual representation of what's happening vs. an electronic interpretation.

You could always have the Autometer bench tested, any shop with Nitrogen & low pressure regulator setup could check accuracy
Both my Autometers 30lb Boost gauges were about 1lb off, can't really do anything about it, other than try another gauge or live with it.

and my oil pressure gauge is way off. my autometer pegs at 100psi and the factory says about 90psi but if the autometer had more room to go it would say 120 id bet.
also, the factory gauge is way slow too. like almost a second slow.
