I juts bought the new PPE "HOT" tuner for my 07 and I like it pretty good. I have it on level 2 90hp until I get the Suncoast trans upgrade. The only thing I don't like is the defueling or torque management whichever it is. When you break traction, the truck dies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure what the deal is here. My buddy has the Predator and I like it too. It just doesnt have the same HP capability as the PPE. He has no problems when he boils the hides!!! Hope this helps!

I want a lot of opinions on this too. I've gotta get rid of this bullydog! I need something to light the tires at WOT and shifts good at light to part throttle. These just happen to be the two I'm looking at.
Dealmaker; Did you install the race valve w/ the PPE? Was it needed for the hotter tunes? TIA Chris

I'm still testing but so far the race valve is not needed for HOT version. It is recommended but not needed.

I have the predator on the 85 hp setting for about a month now. I really like it. I dont know about ppe but ive heard good stuff about it. I just couldnt justify the expense because the predator is pretty cheap compared to it.

I'll run on at least the 120 on predator (or the 160 when it becomes avail.)or the equivalent RWHP on the PPE. Is the race valve a valve w/ the shim kit already installed or does it do more? Wondering b/c I'm probably about to get a TS MP-8.

Im running the Predator right now. Ran and shifted great on 65 and 85. I wanted a little more power so i've been running the 120, just being careful with the go pedal. dont go WOT during the 4-5 shift and dont hammer the pedal while crusing at highway speeds... shifts pretty good on this setting too.

What is this 160HP tune you speak of!???? HMMMM.. by "when it becomes available" do you mean that Predator owners will be able to download it from the Diablo sport site??? will it be free or will it cost $$$??? thanks for the info!

I have the predator and been using it for a couple of months now on 120HP. Just crusing along it's great, the trans shifts smooth.
When you put your foot into it there is some de-fueling, but there's de-fueling even running stock. I can even make smoke with the predator.
For the price the predator is a good choice for the driver that wants some more power but not full out sled pulling comps.

For those with the Predator, I understand that you can disable the EGR with it so you can run a big exhaust, block the EGR and won't need a fingerstick, is this true? Can you correct for tire size also? I understand that it also makes more boost, how much smoke is there on the 1 & 2 settings?

TIA

I have an LB7 so i didnt have to worry about EGR, block and finger... so i cant help you there.

But, YES, you can correct for tire size. I dont have a boost guage but seat-of-the-pants feels like there is a little more boost.

Smoke - Never used level 1. Level 2 produced SOME when i got on it, but not a black cloud. Level 4 (120HP) delivers a nice cloud of smoke when i get in the throttle. I personally would still like more:D , but i think most would be happy with it.

IMO it's a GREAT tuner for the cost! Eventually once i have a Suncoast or ATS tranny I'll make the move to EFI Live but for now the predator does everything i need and makes good power.

Again, anyone with info on this 160HP tune?!?!?!?

I had read a short thread on the 160 tune that said it may (good chance, but still may, nothing definite) become avalible.
EGR can be disabled with V2.02 for the LLY.
Anyone know the answer to the question I asked about the PPE race valve/shim kit earlier?

I haven't tried mine yet, but can it disable the EGR for the LBZ too?
