How accurate will the dyno charts be for the Tripledog on their website? I have the Edge and am looking at making a change. I looked at EFI but to be honest, I think it's beyond my limited computer experience I have. I was comparing the Edge dyno charts to the Bully Dog, and the Bully dog is showing about 50 more hp and tq in the extreme setting. I'm going to get a trans upgrade as soon as I narrow down a programmer. Can I trust the dyno charts?

PPE "normal" makes about 10 hp more than the BD.

The new "Hot" buries it. 480rwhp vs ~420.

So what your saying is the dyno charts are correct. Does the Bully Dog and others make that much more power than the Edge Attitude?

I did not dyno the Edge yet. But I'd be surprised if BD was 50rwhp hotter than the Edge. Really surprised.

Thats correct and the Edge on levei 6 shows 395. The torque numbers are considerable lower as well. Does the Bully Dog defeul between shifts?

Well there is a range from 443 to 458 and the crazy larry is somewhere around 480-492 from what I have seen.... Then when you stack it is can get insane, easily over 500...

Man I really like my bully dog tripple dog. Extreme rocks. Once the trany adjusts to the higher power she really hauls. Probly need the EGR blocker and finger stick. I keep tripping an exhaust code. Tripped an over boost code once too. Running strong now though. Pulled an even 22 MPG today on last tank. Pretty nuts for a 7700 lb truck.

I have raced my friend with the PPE HOT on level 6.. I have been running crazy larry, we are both crew cab LBZ 4x4's, and both of us have identical sun coast level 4's..

He pulled 1 truck length on me from about 30mph to 100mph..

RyanZ06 do you have anything extra for fuel delivery (shims, fuel pump, etc.) or does it run ok in stock form, fuel delivery wise?

I must say I like where this thread is going. I have been wanting to see a shoot out between ppe and bullydog. On the same truck, dyno or track times.

I had my truck on a dyno last saturday. I had My bullydog on extreme and she only put down 390 hp and 705 ft lbs of torque. Talk about disappointing. Those bully dog dyno charts are Bull Sh*t. It shows and LLY makes 449 hp on extreme maybe at the crank. If thats true I would have made 500 hp. I would like to see companys have the balls to put real wheel hp numbers on their websites. Especialy Edge Banks and Bully dog.

I called Bully Dog today. Their rear wheel numbers according to their tech support are:

HP/Torque
28/63
84/150
110/200
138/298 Crazy Larry

These numbers are for a 2006 LLY, not LBZ!

I guess these are their numbers dynoed out. There should be an industry standard for either rear wheel HP/Torque or flywheel HP/Torque. It seems that different companies post their gains at either one of the two.

Interesting I was told that the numbers are the same for the LBZ? Very interesting???

Man am I sick of this evey time someone talks to somone at either Bullydog or Banks to find out what kind of dyno #s they have its something different. I talked to a guy on phone from bullydog he said Crazy LArry was 180 hp and another time the guy said 160 hp. You would think the stupid A** reps would know the product they are selling. All I want is some truth. Considering a LBZ is sopose to make a 312 hp on a dyno and mine made 390 with the bullydog on extreme. I think 4 inch turbo back and cold air intake add at least 20-30 hp that means the most the extreme level makes is 70 real wheel hp.
Well its time to step up and make the move to EFI live for some serious gains. Anyone have any other suggestions.

If you go to the Bully Dog Website, and click on the triple dog tuner, and then click on the dyno numbers, they pretty much match what I listed on the post. I know where you are coming from though, different answers every time you call. From what I have found, some tuners are rated for (RWHP) rear wheel horse power, and some are rated at the crank or flywheel. For example, the predator lists there numbers as rear wheel horse power. PPE rates their's at the flywheel or crank. They tell me that the numbers given at the crank will go down about 25 - 30% by the time the power gets to the rear wheels. Thus, the ratings for the PPE as compared to the predator should be in the vicinity of:

Predator
45/100
65/140
85/170
120/250

PPE
28/60
63/112
112/203
158/273

Both calculated at the rear wheel.

Bully dogs ratings at rear wheel:
28/63
83/150
110/200
138/298 Crazy Larry

I hope this helps and clarifies things if I am correct!

RI;
Are the numbers for the PPE with the 25-30% correction factor? And just for the record..Why the HELL would you advertise crank numbers??? Who cares! I want to know what I am going to be working with in end form. The crank numbers are great for the millions of us that have an engine dyno sitting in our garage..lol Oh crap! Forgot someone stole mine just the other day. RWHP numbers are all anyone in the real world, everyday driver cares about!

PPE makes over 500rwhp on "Wendy".

RI Chevy Silveradoman

I was only comparing the basic lower end models. The Predator already lists their numbers as RWHP. The PPE standard Xcellerator gives their numbers from the crank or flywheel. They are:

PPE _______Less 30%
40/85 _____28/60
90/160_____63/112
160/290____112/203
225/390____158/273
Crank_______RWHP

If my math is correct. These are approximations.

THe PPE Hot x2 does list more power figures on the upper ends. Whew!
