What kind of grease does the chasis call for? I'm talking steering components (ball joints etc) and anywhere else?
What about Dexter axles, Ezlube hubs on my trailer? Can the same stuff be used?

I use the Schaeffers grease that I bought from Dmaxallitech here:
http://www.gmdieseltech.com/store2/cart.php
I have since found a local supplier that will save a little due to no shipping charge.
I don't know what to tell you for the hubs on the trailer. I use NAPA wheel bearing grease on most of my trailers, but they are older. You may want to ask about it in the towing/trailering section. I need to know the answer myself because my newest trailer also has the EZlube hubs.

Any "moly" based black grease will work fine here. No need to pay more for it. You can get it at Walmart or such for under 2 bucks a tube. Do not use a non moly based plain chassis grease here because though it will "work", it will not provided the long term superior wear protection than a moly based grease will. Never use a moly based grease in wheel bearings or u-joints though as the moly particals are not compatable with bearings.Edited by: snoman

USAF has gotten away from using molybdenum grease on aircraft. One of the problems is that the molybdenum builds up and separates from the grease. I have disassembled landing gear that were caked with molybdenum. It was packed in recesses. The grease had dispersed leaving a very hard deposit of molybdenum that provided no lubrication.
Admittedly, the grease in question had a very high percentage of molybdenum, but I would be wary still. Some equipment manufacturers also recommend against using molybdenum grease. The grease I use does not contain molybdenum for this reason. Just another perspective.

I use the Mobil 1 synthetic grease for everything in the front end of my truck and the wife's SUV. So far so good...Edited by: JimWilson

The 2003 owners manual states any grease that meets NLGI #2 GC/LB
I use VALVOLINE GM, CHRYSLER, EUROPEAN & JAPANESE MULTI-PURPOSE GREASE.
It's a nice tacky, fibrous grease.
