I recently purchased a 06 Chevy LLY. Friends and family told me to get some type of downloader. I purchased a Bully Dog and now I seem to reading alot of pros and cons on these things... Does anyone really know the scoop on these downloaders??? Do they really screw up the vehicles... Are they OK for the vehicles???? Do they really void the warranty (my dealership says no)??? What is the 411 on these things, it is soooo confusing???
Thanks
Hafft

if you put youre bully downloader on extreme it will slip youre tranny and you will go into lime just dont turn it up all the way and you should be fine. a good thing about it is you can change youre settings on the fly.

I have one right now. We you use the "Performance" or "Extreme" tunes you have to watch how you run it, expecially on extreme, as it will hurt your trans.
I've run mine for about 8,000 miles now and i love it. I think you'll be pleased with this tuner. As for warrenty issues, it does void you warrenty, but if GM doesn't know you have one, it wont hurt them :D . So NEVER tell you dealer you have one of these. Always deprogram when returning to the dealer for services or etc....

I have one also and hate the shifting in extreme. has a bad defuel/gear drop between 3-4at part throttle. Has ever since I set it to extreme. I'm looking into alternatives or additions right now so I can lower it to performance

If you have Onstar you should take the fuses out that Bully Dog recommends, if theres any interference while its downloading, you could have some problems.

I hear ya' Had mine on extreme since march, still no good. What version do you have? think mines v1.01.02 or something. There is a newer version but who really knows what the difference is. other than mine is rated at 146hp and the current ads say extreme is only like 105hp:(

Maybe I am confused but I have v 2.3.4 and tranny was great before transgo jr, and even better after install! I run extreme daily (litterally).

I believe there is a version 1.1.2 I checked and mine is v1.0.9
Your triple dog probably works with a totaly different set of "versions" I would guess. I have read that it does shift a little better though
