I used your method to install my EGT probe today. It went seemless. Thanks for the great instructions.

You are all welcome. I don't think anyone in three years that drilled while the engine was running had a problem.

Main thing is to drill slowly so the chips are thin... brace your arm so once it breaks through you don't lunge in with the drill and break it, and... while tapping, only turn the tap in about a quarter to half turn after resistance and reverse it to break the chips loose.

If a chip does fall in... don't worry, the iron is so soft and the truck is only idling so turbo speed is slow. Chips will go through the exhaust side and out the tailpipe.

Yea, Me Too! I installed mine yesterday morning and everything went as planned. Took about 30-40 minutes and most of that was removing the wheel and etc. Good Tip! Thanks.

I've done 2 the hoot method and everything went nice and seamless.
