I am I just out of the loop or something, DTT has not offered any free products to anyone. If you are refering to juice he also paid for what he got. But one thing that we haven't done and don't plan on starting doing is giving free stuff to try and prove that our stuff is good.

As far as which TC juice is running that is fairly easy, he is running a DTT converter with the steel stator that you will find in the Cummins that has held 886hp and 1600+ft.lbs in jetpilots truck, and 804hp and 1500+ft.lbs in Jim Fulmers truck.

Testing the convertor and stuff has just been the bonus

I think that 'free comment' was directed at Mike who alluded to some BS about someone offered free stuff from DTT and didn't take it

As far as what the convertor will and will not hold... i have every confidence if it can stand up to Jetpilot's truck it should do well in my DMX.

So much for the 'weak single disc theory'http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

You and me BOTH!

IdahoCTD, Steve Opacensky, Nathan Wright tell me it is gonna be a real eye opener..... they both flogged the truck without the convertor that i have from DTT (Prototype Tow1) and were quite impressed... in fact it would not suprise me if one of them purchases a DMX in the next little while... then i will have to start counting my tailfeathers!!!

We will know more upon teardown this week. But i have shift flares 800 rpms between 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5..... convertor is not slipping, but the trans is throwing codes out like 735 etc..... if i had to venture a guess, i think it will be c1 c2 c3 totally gone. But i will be bringing my digicam to take lots of pics of the damaged parts .

Keep in mind i have not run a tree since the transgo went in. Not once . Just my usual load pulling duties for the job ETC.

My last dyno i ran to 430RWHP and then went WOT locked in 4th gear...... the rest of the sheet looks like a heart attack EKG..... the curve dove from 430RWHP down to 175RWHP.... I faxed the sheet to DTT ....which in Bill's words was.... yup... toast!

Oh well...... This week is the date... sept 14th... not sure when i will make any report on the tranny, as i want to be run in first and check on its manners for a few thousand miles. I have never advertised or cheerleaded a product that did not perform and i am not about to start now, or recommend something that does not work. Bottom line for me is that if i did not have confidence in DTT's machine work or their track record they would not have anything in my truck. But their track record is such that i must stay the course to its conclusion. And the reports so far indicate that the wait and test will be worth it. Suncoast and ATS seem to be holding up well, however there are a lot of very satisfied DTT runners out there who swear by their transmissions (not at them) so in i go.... And if they can do what they said in their locked thread...the big guns tearing up other stuff will have a viable alternative. Me, i am not a big gun in the HP war, but with the help of PDR and DTT i do want to see how far i can go reliably without drugs.... 1 fuel 1 fill stop etc etc, but i digress; i can give more details soon, and i would like to thank Piers Diesel Research, Diesel Transmission Technology, Edge Products Inc, and BullyDog Technologies for their help and support in pursuing that goal.

You are correct. I am full of it. I really don't care what you guys build or who builds it for you. I would never consider using your product because you guys are a bunch of pompass asses. You also lie and you guys like to put down other people in our business. This makes all of us look bad. Seems like everyone in your shop walks around with a dark cloud over their head and you all seem pissed at the world. Why? As far as what I have stated, I stand by it. Would you like to go further on this subject? Why don't you just put your product out there and let it stand up for what it is. You might impress a lot of people and sell a lot of product. You might fail. You will not win by defaming other people in this business.

dmaxallitech, if Mike L has nothing to gain and I am the source and I am correcting his mis-conception, why would he just not stand corrected if I am telling him the statement is false. End of Story. One of two things come to mind, he is a competitor vendor and has his own agenda. Why else the nasty argumentative post above. I have not done anything to him and he does not know anything about us or our shop. At any rate , performance & racing is our background so if guys are looking for alternatives they will know where to find us. When we release the product line if they are interested they can call, if they are happy with what they have no one is twisting to their arm to call DTT. According to Mike our attitude makes us arrogant, I obviously do not agree but ultimately each of you have to decide what is best for you.

Ok, today is the 14th.....and? Any thoughts? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif What's happening so far? How long will it take to set, learn or break-in the tranny? How about those clutches.....three too chose from..which one's or is it a mix? What's the pressure or is it varrible?

Mike isnt really a competitor is he? You make parts and install em. He works on tranys and has his preference right now for what upgrade he prefers for the allison. If something better came down the pipe in his eyes I'm sure he would use that and sell that one. It dosnt make a hill of beans of difference to him what he is installing I'm sure since he would probably make the same $ on one as the other as long as he didnt get pissed off customers coming back becasue stuff is getting trashed(dont read deap into that comment, not saying your stuff or anyones wouldhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif) Only way he would compete against you is if refused to let him sell your stuff or ofcourse if he chose not to sell it. JMO

So straight from the horses mouth so to speak, who is your source for converters and aslo what burner asked. May help people decide whats best for them. Inquiring minds want to knowhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

As I have already addressed Mike's comments I dont feel the need to elaborate any further that issue. However to answer your question in regards to the horses mouth, in keeping with Nicks guidelines at the moment I cannot elaborate any further on products at the present time other than to state that the TC's are DTT's own design as they are with the Dodge & Ford ones we offer. When all the appropriate paperwork is in place with Nick we will be better able to comment.

I hate that! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

Trippin, i will give you a little hint, everyone in business is profit motivated last time I checked if they want to pay their bills which really leaves out the working for free theory out. Burner, paperwork is in the works .

Stefen K

I will give you a little hint. You are pushing a program that is unproven. The big boys won;t touch your single disc converter because if it lets loose, which it will, they will lose a motor. Will you pay for that? As far as paying bills, I do that just fine without any Duramaxes. Something else my friend; I can call Joe Webb, or Clint Cannon with questions about their product any time and get a honest down to earth technical answer and so can anyone on this board. Are they afraid? Hell no. And you? I am not in competition with you, Suncoast or ATS. I depend on these people to give me a product I can sell with my heart into it. I need to know whats in it and why you think it's going to work. You see, my customers ask me these questions, they are not stupid. I have to believe it, then I have to test it, then I have to run this whole thing by my gurus to see if I missed something. When I am happy, I will promote it and sell it. So far you have made promisses and knocked the competition and have not shone squat. Do you really think you impressed anyone here? Another hint; are your phones ringing off the wall? If you answer yes, than go back and read my last post.

Stefan K,

Wow, thanks for the business tip! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

The point is........(which you obviously missed)......some people will sell anything to make a buck. They are only interested in the points. Regardless of whether the product is crap, they will sell it to make a buck.

Mike L. is interested in selling the best possible part for the intended application, not just any part that will fit the intended application. He makes his profit from selling the finest parts, performing the highest quality labor and continues to build equity in the form of trust and repeat business from each and every one of his customers.

If Mike comes across a part that is substandard in his eyes. He feels it is his duty to warn the masses. So Stefan K, tread lightly here with your claims, if you can win Mike's confidence with a quality part, then you have definitely accomplished something. If not, the you will suffer the printed wrath of the infamous Mike L. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

........ just looking at the converters.... on the last line, the one that says "Other Company / Converter" there is a count of 5. What does that mean? Is it just one converter that 5 people have or 5 different converters? They are not TTS, ATS or SunCoast converters......then what are they?

Anyone?

Stefan K,

What do you expect the warranty to be on your Allison trans/converters? Using your converter/trans mods, will you stand behind it, if at the drag strip, I pre-stage my truck, then build boost to 20 psi in 4wd and hold it there for approx. 20 seconds? Then launch a 7500lb truck, time and time again.

I can document this with a Tech 2 snapshot if you need it for research purposes.

My current trans/converter has been run in this fashion most of this year plus 20,000 miles of street driving. When I asked Clint at ATS about this, he said it sounds exactly like how he races his truck.

If you have the horsepower to smoke the tires all the way into 5th, I would imagine that you would over rev the motor dropping it into 4th. Why would you drop to fourth with 544 hp? I only run a small program and never drop to 4th. I pull like a freight train in 5th. Isn't that what we are trying to improve on the diesel engines. We work with a small rpm window. When running the 1/4 mile, you will be in 5th and locked at the 1/8 mile and pull the rest of the way in 5th locked up. Why would you drop to 4th? Must be a new DTT strategy. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Gear vendors would not handle the torque. And with an Exh Brake it happens sooner than later.... especially on a Bombed truck

I take it is is not for sale yet. When it is, I will buy one and take it to the track and I will build boost for 20 sec or more and launch. Will it take it? Will DTT stand behind it? We here in California are barely pushing the 500 hp envilope, you might say we are behind the times. We have never achieved the hp numbers up north. We are consistant with the numbers we post as compared to the times we post, and you? I am looking forward to the DTT trans test. Think what this will do for DTT if it works. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I have supplied DTT with the names of 4 people who i want to have first crack at the trans when it is done (if they so choose)

My numbers stand up, end of story.

Scoast and ATS make good products, DTT believes they can improve upon their way of doing things by taking a different approach. It might be horrible, or it might just knock everyone else on their ass. Until it is complete i will not know, and since i am testing for them i will try my best to keep you in the loophttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif.

Since you really want to know, why not make the call to DTT? i have 2/3 of the finished product in my truck and it flat out rocks. What amazes me is that the 3 disc crowd can stall their convertors to such a high RPM.... must be the inferior grip of a single disc.... my stall is far lower.

But i will pass on your request for more information to DTT....

In response I have to inform you that Sun Coast comes from an agricultural background. I had a turnip farm, one day I drove my turnip truck to town to deliver my turnips, while climbing up to fetch a batch of turnips I slipped and fell off the turnip truck, I rolled down the hill and struck my head on an old rusty turret lathe setting in a pile of transmissions. Upon awakening I could not remember what I was doing there. I turned and saw the lathe and just assumed that I must work on transmissions and make parts for them. I appreciate Stephen bringing this to my attention. I have just purchased 10 acres of beachfront and will be planting my turnips shortly.
