Hello,

I have my B&W ready to go in. I have a short bed 2500HD. I thought I recall reading a post where you can install the hitch closer to the centerline of the axle, but I have searched and searched and can not find anything. Can the hitch only be installed in one spot (per the directions) or is there room to move the hitch back a couple inches closer to the rear axle?

Thanks in advance!

Tim

I have one on mine - I didn't install it but I think there is only one place to put it. I don't think you want to move it back because your rear differential can hit the ball when it is turned over.

I did install my B&W. There isn't room to move it back. It is a bad idea to move it back anyway. If you need more clearance to the cab, get the offset ball. That way the force will still be applied to the truck where it should be.
