Does anyone know why the seats don't recline all the way down, they reclined all the way back in my 01' ext. cab but they don't in the crew and there is alot more room in the crew cab, just don't understand http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Question.gif The seats are cloth and are 40/20/40.

Same here, Bluecrew. They don't make for a very good nap, do they?

Why do they have reclining seat in a regular cab? They just hit the back wall of the cab. YOU GOT MY SEATS !!!!!

Well......when the seat is fully reclined, all the safety equipment designed for the vehicle occupant are useless.....seatbelt, air bag, side impact air bag.....There was an accident a few years ago and huge law suit....changed a few months later. The farthest the seat goes back now, is the limit of where the safety equipment is still beneficial.

Is there any way to change it?

Perhaps, but it might entail the use of a chainsaw... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Does anybody know if the leather buckets in the late model regular cab (are they abailable), extended cab, suburban, pseudo subs (denali, trailblazer and anything else they call them - you know, the subs they took a chunk out of the middle to shorten them) recline all the way down like they did in the past? No, the seats in an 04 Sub LT do not recline all the way. And, for the record the seats in an 01 ext cab don't recline all the way either. Just another great feature from GM...right up there with...oh never mind.

Hey don't blame GM- blame the lawyers(Like John Edwards and his friends-LOL)- that caused this change and the idiots I have seen driving with their seats reclined down so low they can barely see over the dash. I can tell you I have seen that from first hand experience seeing people driving with their seat almost fully horizontal when driving. All so they look cool. Whoops I guess one wreck from an idiot now makes it so I can’t relax when I want to. Man, sometimes you really have to hate people.

Naw, their seats aren't reclined. They are just short on one end!

Does anybody know if the seats in a 04' ext. cab recline almost all the way( almost touching back seats). The seats in my 01' ext. cab reclined alot further back than my 04' crew cab. Also I to am wondering if there is a way to make them recline further?

Are these the same Morons we see driving down the road setting haft way over in the passenger seat, or walking around with their pants hanging below their rear ends.

LOL Yep- I bet the dude looked real cool right before the crash. In my old Leo days- I stopped a few for driving like that. I would ask them if their seat was broke and they would say "no- Im reclinin”- LOL I don't know how they could even see over the dash with the seat like that. So now I get to suffer and I don’t get to do any "reclinin" at the rest stop. I wish there was someway to rig the seat to change that- but doesn’t look like it.

All the more reason to continue to let them drive in that position, survival of the fitest and all that.

Bump

Has anyone been able to mod the passenger seat to fully recline?

I was wondering the same thing. It might just be a simple matter of grinding the last stop off the adjuster "rails"........
