Hello everyone,
I have an 04 2500hd with the factory equipped RSE DVD player and I also have XM Radio. My problem is that when I use the XM band on the Main Radio then I get no DVD sound option on the RSE. So if the kids want to watch a DVD I cant listen to XM. If I am tuned to XM they get the DVD display but can only get XM,FM,or AM on the sound control no DVD. I tried the source button and the remote still cant get it to work. Everything else works just like it should. I have the bose system with the single cd/cassete head

No I still haven't gotten it fixed. I took it to the dealer and they cant figure it out. They said they have a call in to GM tech support but no answer yet.
Yes they are using headphones and if you look at the rear sound console when the kids have it the dvd on it says dvd in the window when i switch the main unit to XM then it will switch the rear sound console to XM and when you hit the source button you can switch from XM to am or fm but it wont let you switch back to dvd if the main is on XM. It works fine if the main is on FM or AM only does this when I switch it to XM

the radio only has one "auxillary" audio input, the XM and RSE are both tied into this common input so you can not listen to XM and RSE at the same time. What you can do Im pretty sure is have the RSE played over the RSE's headphones (not wired headphones that plug into the rear seat audio controls, the actual wireless ones that come with teh RSE) and listen to XM at the same time, but otherwise you'd have to listen to a CD or FM/AM radio if you are using the RSE. (no XM)

Thanks for your input. The dealer actually called back today and GM said thats the way it is supposed to work. Its kinda goofy but its not that big a deal. I don't have the factory wireless HS as I bought the truck used. I don't really want to spend the money on them to see if it works. Its only a little thing so Ill live with it. Ben your explanation actually makes more sense then what the dealer was trying to tell me, Maybe you should open a Chevy dealer. Or better then that GM needs to pay you to be the guy who decides who gets to open one.
