So in florida a class D license is required for over 8000 ish gvwr, but they go by your registration, so my dealer lowered my registered GVWR to 7999 without actually askingme if I have a class D, which I DO. So now because they were trying to save me money...I could have gotten a hellacious ticket if I loaded my truck to GMs GVWR.

Did you tell them what to register it for? I told them, how much I wanted mine register for. I know in NJ you have to sign the application and it has the weight on it. Truck GVW + Trailer GVW

In florida they kind of just throw a bunch of papers at you, at the time I got the truck I did not even think to look at the registration application in terms of the weight.

Dealer registered me for a 6k# plate! IIRC, my truck weighs more than that dry! When tag ran out last April, I went to the farm tag -- 38k IIRC.

Well you could have read the docs. What is stopping you from getting it registered correctly?
