How much oil loss is normal for 5000 mile of "normal" driving ?

Mine hasn't used ANY noticeable amount oil so far. It has 8,000 miles on it.


I was quite surprised it Didn't use any, Especially before the first oil change, since that is when the rings are seating.


When I first got the truck I would wait for the engine to get up to full operating temperature, and then I would Floor it every time I would get on an on ramp, and often times when I would leave a stop light.


I didn't exceed 60 mph for the first 500 miles though. (Keeping the rear end from overheating)


I was told to do break in this way, to help seat the rings. This may be why it hasn't used oil.


needless to say, I am a very happy D Max owner...
