Hello, i have turned the internet upside down looking for a 3.5 inch segment of straight pipe to replace my factory muffler with on my '02 duramax. Anyone know of a place that sells these to fit factory exhaust? On another note, i have spoke with a few exhaust shops and it seems that in my area no one has dies for 3.5" pipe, or even has the pipe if they could bend it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Search this site for muffler delete. Don't know what thread it is under. I just got mine yesterday.

You can have any local muffler shop install a straight pipe. Should only cost you about 50 bucks.. Also you can do a search and you will find certain sites that will offer you what you need.

I bought mine from Husker High Performance exhaust on eBay for $50. I think you can also order them from their website for $70, but you may want to watch eBay as they have them on there from time to time. Anyway, it went in very easily and works great. I also purchased the muffler clamps that they offer with it. Had all of the parts in at one time and went in great. Not too loud, but adds a nice sound. The website for Husker High Performance is:

thanks for the info folks... I would just have my local exhaust shop make me a piece to replace the muffler... if they could handle 3.5". Unfortunately i would have to drive upwards of 40 miles to get this accomplished. As far as searches go on like google or the like... i bring up things, but when i call the people that handle them, they are for a 4" system... i just have the factory 3.5" so the 4" wont help me any.

I just cut the muffler off and got a piece of 3.5 in stainless flex pipe and put it in there.

Just installed my pipe from exhaust pros and it seems that the pipe doesn't have guite enough rise to keep the tail pipe in the stock position. It doesn't look bad but it is angled down more than stock. Any good fixes??

Hi all, new to forum. Have been looking to buy dual exhaust but am VERY curious as to what the system sounds like with no muffler. Is it loud? What about when pulling heavy trailers? Anywhere I can get a sound bite of what the LLY sounds like with dual and no muffler? Edited by: rjlange

If your wanting an exhaust for the truck in your sig. you have an LB7 Dmax. The straight pipe has some increased noise in the cab, but really hard to tell under normal driving. Sounds similar to a PS but with a lot more bite around 2500 rpm. The LLY has a sound all its own. Kind of a cross between a jet and a diesel engine. Sorry I have no sound bites.
