I am currently the proud owner of a new Dodge Cummins. I have since 1994 driven a 6.5 L diesel for 140000 and a Duramax for 47000 miles before switching to a Cummins. I always used Stanadyne performance formula for increasing lubricity and cetane numbers. I am wondering if I should continue to use the same in my new Cummins. I am still on my first tank of fuel.
I got the quad cab with snow plow prep and single rear wheels to make it more versatile than my previous two diesels cause I can take 4(or more) people fishinghttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif plow with a quad cab and still be able to turnaround(140 inch wheel base)http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gif , haul my atv in the back http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gifand go through a carwash. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif

When I had my chevy 6.2l with a rebuilt fuel pump and injectors, the mechanic recommended using stanadyne performance formula, it makes pumps and injectors last longer, run cleaner, with more fluiditidy. It's a good idea to run it at lease once every 2 or 3 fill ups.

I bought a case of the one shot performance formula and it has lasted me 6 months and 11000 miles. It runs about 55-65 dollars. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

Stanadyne is highly recommended by the local bosch guy. I bought a 5 gallon bucket. Its good stuff. Better mileage. Quieter running.
