just returned from a 10,093 mile trip coss country towing an '03 SunnyBrook 33' travel trailer ... trip took us from NC to LA, up to Washington, over to ND, and eventually back home via PA and the Chesepeake Bay ... tow vehicle early '02 3500 D/A ('01 injectors), Hot Juice run in Level 1 (60hp) .... had 71,598 miles showing when we pulled back in the driveway ... comments:

installed JK's lift pump just prior to leaving and haven't had to prime the Mega since .... his system has worked flawlessly

averaged 11.1 mpg for the entire trip

worst mileage, single tank at 8.2 mpg crusing at 65 mph against a strong midwest head wind

best mileage, single tank 16.4 mpg which was about 25% towing and 75% with out the camper

best fuel price was in Texas, $1.529 per gallon

worst fuel price was in Calif. away from the interstate where they charged $2.269 per gallon

truck's engine and transmission have never been touched by a mechanic (original computer programming + hot juice) and ran flawlessly

towing a load through the Rockies, Cascades, Sierras and others has a way of giving one a new found respect for an Allison transmission ... couldn't be happier with its performance

most days traveled were on interstate roads, TH, in OD with the cruise set on 65 mph

highest speeds were across Montana and parts of North Dakota in TH, OD with the cruse set at 79 mph ... got 10.3, 10.1, and 10.4 mpg on those three tanks
[/list]
