I finally got back home on 6 Nov and started putting all the stuff I ordered on my truck. Just a few more things to do and I should be done. Thanks to everyone I got advice from and especially thanks to AFP1. The lift is a TC 4", but has 3" blocks in the rear and the t-bars are cranked up 8 turns.

Joe,

Nice Job. Based on what you said, your front is set at about 6" and the rear at 3". This should make thr truck level, maybe a tad bit nose high.

BTW, TC now makes a skid plate for the 4" lift.

Hey, what was your MOS? I am an Army Civilian engineer, maybe you can help me make something better for you!

Your truck looks mean, are those stock H2 rims and tires? I did not know they would work with the TC lift. You are dwarfing them!

I had to put a spacer on the front for the H2 rims to work with the TC lift. I used old brake rotors (a trick I learned off this forum)

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The front is riding a little stiff too. Do you think if I backed the t-bars back down to 7 turns it would ride better? I still need to put better shocks on too, these are the stock TC ones.

Joe,

One turn equals approx 1/4". You should be able to run with your t-bars cranked 1" over stock. Turn down your t-bars 4 turns (after unloading the them), then drive the truck over some bumps to settle the suspension. Then measure from the center of the hub to the underside of the fender well (on each side.) The setting for a 4" lift is 27.5" from the center of the hub to the underside of the fender well. If you add one inch you'll get 28.5".

If you have rubbing with the t-bars 1" over stock, then tie back the parking brake cable and reform/tie-back the inner fender liners.

I can't tell you guys where I was at--you know, the host nation sensitivities and all. However, I have spent three deployments over there in the last 6 years. My last deployment was Sep 05 to Jan 06. I retire next summer so I think I am done with the Mid-East.

No, Paliwoda is a small FOB just outside the Balad city limits

Congrats on retirement. I could retire in June 07 but I just took a ROTC assignment in Montana, so I'll probably stay in a couple more years

I love the bumper, and the air bags still work (I hope)....It took them 2 or 3 months to make and deliver it after I orderd it though, but well worth the wait.
