It's time for tires and can't decide which size to go with. I would like to go with the 305's. I have 285's now. I adjusted the torsion bars about 2 inches to stop scubbing. It worked beautifully. I was wondering if 305's would cause any rubbing since they are an inch or so wider. Any help with experience will be appreciated.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I have 285/75's on mine right now, but on my 2002 I had 305/70 R16 on a 16X8 wheel. I had to trim a little, but I got no rub at all from them. The torsion bars were cranked up almost all of the way, and I had 1 1/2" blocks in the back. They looked good, and I will probaby go with them when I have to get new tires. I didn't need the blocks, the front was just sitting up higher than the back, so I wanted to level it out.

Where was your's rubbing at, In the front or back of the tire? Mine was rubbing in the back before I cranked the torsion bars up 2 inches.(when I turned) Input from others is welcome here. Thanks! Edited by: DMAX POWER007

Mine was also rubbing in the back. It took a rubber mallet and knocked it down and back a little. Seemed to do the trick, because it didn't do it again.

I have tried 265, 285, 295, 305 in 16" and 245 in 19.5. The 305 looked great, but wore quickly, stuck out a bit far, and hydroplaned on wet. I went back to 285 for my 2500 and will use 19.5 on a new 4500 D/A 4X4, when it gets build. My new 3500HD arrives 9/1/04 and will go with the 285. 305 is too wide for many uses, but would be great for a street queen. My trucks get used!Edited by: gardnerteam

<DIV>Thanks for the input. I use mine also. 100,000 miles since May of '02. Nitto makes a 60,000 mile 305 that has an E load rating. I just wanted to see if anyone was running this tire and having any scrubbing problems when turning with only a 2" torsion bar adjustment. If so, I'll use the 285. Any and all input welcomed!</DIV>Edited by: DMAX POWER007
