Hey guys,
i am a new gut to the forum, and currently have a SS silverado. My question is has anyone heard that GM is going to redesign the column shifter for the Allison trucks to be able to get manually shifted into 4 gear ?? Thanks

You can already manually shift into 4th gear. The tow/haul button on the end of the shifter also doubles as an OD lockout. 03 and 04 only.

They will have to change more than the column. Once your shifter passes the O/D position, it no longer moves the manual valve in the valve body. The NSBU switch does the rest. Smoke and mirrors. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I thought the '03s had the O/D cancel like the '04s.

Ratlover is right. Push and hold for O/D lockout.(look for light on dash)
Tap for tow/haul. If you have the original manual that came with the truck, you will find a detailed description there.

dont see why it wouldnt? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif its all an electrical thing, there is no mechanical stuff going on past D in the shifter movment. Havent tried that yet though.
