will I benefit from running a new fuel pump ( Fass ? ) and pick up assembly ( Trippens unit ) - I have the suncoast stage 3 and run the TTS tow tune stacked with Edge-Attitude level 5. When the gas tank gets lower it definitely feels like its starving for gas ? Also, what other advantages will I see with running this set up ? Thanks

You will definately get a more consistent running truck.

you can only tell how short on fuel you are by running some snapshots with the tech 2.. if you want to i'm game.

DP - you dont have to ask me twice - lets do it, ready when you are ? do we have to wait til the fuel gage is low or can we figure that info out regardless ?

Why not just run a analog fuel pressure gauge of some sort? I am assuming this can be done on a Dmax....right?

what will the tech 2 show us ? and what could i expect to see from not having the fuel pump - pickup against installing it ?

The Tech II allows you to record the run so you can review it afterwards. It also showes what the ECM is calling for and what is being delivered. If you did use a fuel pressure gauge you could only see what it's making. This doesn't let you know if it's the right or wrong pressure. You woould also need a gauge that reads 28,000 psi

Diesel tech....I realize the pressure is that high in the rail, but at least on the 3rd. gen cummins you can use the analog gauge, granted its only reading 7-8 psi stock in the fuel line but it does give you an idea weather or not you are starving the truck fuel wise under throttle. Just a thought....however using the tech 2 seems like a pretty cool thing that would give lots of info.

Sdaver why don't you find somewhere that I stated a lift pump wasn't a good idea. I'll save your time since I never said that. I guess maybe your like MikeL and can't comprehend what you read?
