Just took MBRP muffler off tonight, got the straight pipe in place. Sounds great. Is it true that the straight will lower my mpg?

With less restriction you "might" see a slight increase. Could not see where this would cause MPG to go down any.

I think it depends on which intake setup you have. on my ram with the stock air box I could get 16's & 17's on the hiway but once I switched over to the AFE stage 2 w/PG7 filter, I lost about 1~1.25 mpg. this going thru a 30" straight thru magnaflow. I added a 4040 aero turbine where the cat used to be and gained some of that 1~1.25 back plus alot of low end torque that was lost. the truck doesnt seem to want to downshift as much either.

Not mine, However with no Muff. or Cat you'll want to stomp it more....and that's poor MPG
