I am about to purchase a truck that has the ATS components upgrade in the allison using the Triple Pack which included the Triple Disk Converter, clutches & steels, pump and valvebody mods, and CoPilot.
Allison deep pan.

The truck also comes with a 215hp/415tq tune (Quadzilla) .

My question is, will this upgrade on the tranny be enough to hold all the power? Do you think more is needed?

Stats:
Chevy 2003 Dmax/alli, 2500HD, 4X4, crew cab, short wheel base.

thanks all

I'd say anything around 80hp pushing thestock trans limit. I've even heard of a stock trans being limped with an edge ez which is only like 65 hp(I think). If your looking at being really safe I wouldnt go past 60 or 65hp at most.

Thanks guys but let me clear up the last question.

For the truck with the ATS upgrade, what do you think is the max added HP and TQ that it can handle?

if its a 'full' ATS trans, it will easilly handle in excess of 500 rear wheel hp and 1000 rear wheel ft lbs of torque.

For the truck with the ATS upgrade, what do you think is the max added HP and TQ that it can handle? Our ATS has handled everything we have thrown it .Except one output shaft which is a hard part so doesnt matter anyway.NLDP

We have found the triple pack from ATS to hold up to and above 500HP at the rear wheels with no concerns.

One thing I would check is that the bolts from the Flex Plate to the TC are tight and locked with the red loctight I believe. Gets messy if these are loose.

I've been running the exact same tranny upgrades from ATS that you mentioned for the past 3 years and 30,000 miles. No problems what's so ever, even with the addition of an A5K and dual cp3's. Many truck pulls and drag races on this tranny.
