: Quad Stealth for 01s
CPMac 07-21-2004, 08:16 PM I need a few people to contact me about trying a fix for the speed limiter and or rpm limiter on the 01 trucks. If you have a Stealth tuner on an 2001 and wanted the speed limiter and or rpm limiter raised you can pm me or call at 816-205-0514.
hdmax 07-21-2004, 10:05 PM What about us with 02 truck`s? I can't seem to go over about 125-130mph before I chicken outhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
Scotty Seelen 07-22-2004, 11:00 AM I'll buy a Stealth tuner right now if you can do those two things on the 2001's, or even just eliminate the speed limiter. I wouldn't use the power programming, as I already have the 6-gun. Please keep us updated.......
Ditto. 96 comes way too quickly... http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
Heartbeat Hauler 07-22-2004, 02:25 PM I'm a little more picky, I still want a basic programmer that will read/clear codes, make tire size changes, and do the speed limiter delete with no power adding programming. Gotta be some vendor out there that can/will do this....purty please.
JP
Scotty Seelen 07-22-2004, 02:55 PM I just CAN'T believe there is not ONE programmer out there that does the speed limiter delete. Besides buying a custom program from TTS, there's nothing. What is so difficult on the 2001's that isn't on the later models. Jeez, there IS a market out there for this.......
1bad01 07-22-2004, 04:04 PM You guy's might not believe me but, my truck does NOT shut off. I don't know why, all I have is the juice with attitude on it and I had it doing 100 plus many times and even 110 twice (drag racing on the street) before I left off. I bought the truck used (15000 miles) with no power adders on it, so I don't know what the previous owner could have done to it. I would love to show this to someone else that has an 01 but I don't know any one near me that has one. I would also like to know why it doesn't shut off (not that I'm complaining about it).
Any ideas??? People who don't beleive me, lets hear it, but I don't Know how I can prove it to you.

Scotty Seelen 07-22-2004, 04:13 PM Maybe the previous owner bought a Powerloader II from TTS with no other modifications other than removing the limiter. Was the previous owner the original buyer for your truck? Is there any way you can contact him to see what's up? I don't know of any other explanation....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif
1bad01 07-22-2004, 04:24 PM I bought this truck a year and a half ago, was the powerloader II even out yet back then?
The previous owner was the original owner of the truck, but I don't know how I could find him. Maybe through the dealer???
Scotty Seelen 07-22-2004, 04:30 PM I don't know when TTS came out with the Powerloader II. It would be very interesting to know what was done to your truck. If you do ever find out, please let us know. Either way, consider yourself lucky.
1bad01 07-22-2004, 04:34 PM I'll do my best.
Mackin 07-22-2004, 04:47 PM Here's your answer 35x12.50 BFG's.

1bad01 07-22-2004, 05:09 PM Nope, I was waiting for someone to comment on that.
The 1st time I had it doing 110 was when I was racing my buddies Silverado SS with my truck on the 60 hp setting and he got the jump on me and by the time I cought him my speedo was buried at 100, and it is 8 mph slow (when going that fast) do to the bigger tires. When we were done I asked him how fast we were going and he said 110. Thats according to him.
Then when I upgraded to the juice and attitude I had the attitude reading 110 while to speedo was buried.
Ok, now your going to say that the truck gets its info from the speedo and not the attitude and thats why I can go that fast, but if thats the case, then why does my torque convertor lock up at 55mph like it is supposed to? And thats 55 on the attitude not the speedo which is only reading about 49-50 when it locks.
Max Power 07-22-2004, 05:29 PM The first time you raced that SS what did you use to add the extra 60hp?
1bad01 07-22-2004, 05:38 PM My 90hp juice that I had at the time. I had it on level 2.
Mackin 07-22-2004, 09:47 PM Then you have the Predator tune in and the previous owner either didn't return to stock or the Predator screwed up on him and he couldn't.

PowerLoaders were first shipped in 1997. First units for the Duramax were late 2000 as programs only for the 2001 model year. Finished Powerloader II units started shipping in March 2001. Getting rid of the speed limiter isn't all that hard but when you donot know how to disassemble code it could be. Edited by: Diesel Tech

With 35`s your speedometer is off more then 8% as you stated. 33`s make it off by about 8 1/2% At 96 mph (According to the speed-o) you would be going more like 110 or so. So that would explain it pretty close. I have heard of guys saying their truck kicks off at anywhere from 95 to 99, so maybe you have one that reads up to about 99 or 100 which with your tires you would be going close to 115 mph. Just a little food for thought!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
heartbeatcanada 07-23-2004, 12:22 AM Run it up to 120 and see if it still goes any faster. When i was running 285s i could go 105 mph so my gps told me. I've got 33's now and i'm over 110 mph when the speedo says 98ish, when i don't have the speedo corrected
1bad01 07-23-2004, 06:40 AM I guess I'll try for 115 or 120mph but there are reasons I never tried before; 1 It sucks going that fast on 35's, and 2 I try not to beat the tranny in 5th gear to hard. I'll give it a shot and I'll let y'all know how I made out. I honestly don't think it will shut down though.Edited by: 1bad01
Scotty Seelen 07-23-2004, 07:46 AM Mackin,
As far as I know, the predator doesn't remove the speed limiter on the 2001's.

110mph on the 01's man!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I have been that fast on 35`s and 38`s, and man it is more then a little uneasy. Can you imagine what could happen if the 1/4" diameter ti-rods decided they couldn't take it anymore?
Scotty Seelen 07-23-2004, 10:59 AM grasshopper,
I'm having a brain lapse. Who makes the predator and what's their website? If it raises it to 110mph, that's good enough for me. 98mph just comes too fast. I'll be ordering it today if you get back to me...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
grasshopper 07-23-2004, 12:15 PM diablo sport, the nice thing about it is it also does injector balance tests, and you do not have to use the power to get the speed to move to 110mph! PM me if you need help finding one!
