: one year later all be good
pofarmboy 11-28-2006, 10:22 PM Welp, is a year on the LBZ. All is good, 22300 on the ticker, and yes the same stupid grin when ya mash the petal. Still seems hard on the rear tires :D. Only time it has went in was for the first oil change (freebie) and the glow plug recall. No complaints.
5erDriver 11-28-2006, 11:45 PM So, no EGR problems? If not, sounds like you are one of the lucky ones.
Bulldogger 11-29-2006, 08:58 AM I've got 17,000 miles and no EGR problems either. I don't think that many people had EGR problems, it was more of the same people having repeat problems. Dealers were attempting to clean and not replace them or didn't have them in stock, if I remember correctly. I can tell you this as far as diesel trucks go the D/A rule.:ro)
gardnerteam 11-29-2006, 09:06 AM 28,000 miles, and no problems at all. Best D/A yet.
8,434 on mine, no problems yet.
Bought on 1/3/06.
eggsack 11-29-2006, 11:05 AM I have had mine 4 months with no major problems. at 21,000 miles I hjave had some nuisance problems. I had a SES light come on about 4 weeks ago and took it to a dealer and they said the MAF connector was bad, replaced and reset codes. This past week I got a load of bad fuel with water in it and for 450 miles, I drained the OEM fuel filter every other day and dumped the Nictane filter 3 times and got rid of about a gallon of water. While all of that was going on, the SES light came vack on and off about 4 times and took to the dealer yesterday and they said it had a MAF signal low code and reset and drove and all was good.
I got a fresh fuel load in it yesterday and added my Stanadyne and the ruck runs great again. Do not know why the MAF light got tripped this second time, but after 100 miles yesterday everything was good.
I still get the funny slanted grin every time some young punk in a Mustang or a F-250 power dump pulls up beside me at a stop light. Once my go pedal is mashed, they all sort of disappear in my smoke. Only had one car so far beat me to 80+ mph and that was a vette.
jevanb 11-29-2006, 11:39 AM 11k no problems just want more power and for it to stop defueling when i mash it, BUT wife says YOU WANT WHAT and she says I WANT THIS , so nothing on my plate for a while
Hafft 11-29-2006, 12:52 PM mine has had the steering wheel controls fixed about 4 times, the last time they worked on it they didnt tighten up the steering wheel and it fell off, the stupid belt squeeks like no other and they are still trying to fix it. other than that, its been a good truck. oh and i only have about 7,000 miles on it with about 4 months of driving:mad: :)
thinkpt 11-29-2006, 01:10 PM 12,000 mi and no problems at all with lots of towing at 9600#.
Stephen 11-29-2006, 01:11 PM I have owned my LBZ from November of 05 and have encountered no problems with the EGR. However, the steering shaft is beginning to make noise when I hit bumps or cross RR tracks. I assume the dealer will make the necessary repairs by using the steering kit.
GabbysDad 11-29-2006, 04:02 PM 5 months New with 6700 miles on my LBZ/Alli, "no" issues whatsoever, Knock on Hickory. Hoping to avoid egr problems before I install blocker plate & remove the kitty cat that helps the EGT stay up there compared to the LB7. Will have the B&W gooseneck installed soon to tow 13000 RV/Toy hauler soon! Loved my 03 Sierra CC SB 4x4 SLE LB7, but has nothing on my Sierra CC SB 4x4 SLT LBZ. No more presents for me this year @ X-mas the wife has put here foot down! Most of my Santas wish list are already on my LBZ! Can't stop the BIG Silly grin before I even start'r Up everyday!:D

CDLBZ 11-29-2006, 09:02 PM truck at the dealer as i type....P0405 egr code since it was new....cel on for three days off for three days (key cycles).fifth time in...7 plus a month for a truck that has been at the dealer a total of three weeks. 10 months old with 30k on the fluttering digital display, no fix but greese for the rattling intermediate shaft, unable to put REAL tires on because of rubbing issues, looks like a half ton, front diff does not truly lock(GOT STUCK IN A DITCH)
had a MIGHTY FORD POWER STROKE pull me out, .......ooooohhhhh but I love how quiet it is................................................ ........
pofarmboy 11-30-2006, 05:17 AM Truck been in the shop twice. Once for a free oil change, and the glow plug re-programing recall. The egr been ok (knock on wood) the belt squeeks when cold but, every vehicle I ever owned with the flat belt squeeked at one time or another so I never got excited about it. Only real issue I have is that pesky rear tire wear issue. I did mount up a set of 265 Dunlop mud rovers on it. The factory Bridgestones were bald @ 19000 on the back. Keep debating about the programmers however I am happy with it so I haven't got real excited about that either. :chevy:
coldLBZ 11-30-2006, 10:23 PM Had mine since May. 11000 km on it now, no real problems. Had a block heater related CEL, got the update and so far so good, just used up all my free oil changes. I am also having issues with the rear tires....go figure. The truck came with bridgestones from the dealer but we were going to mount my BFG's that were on the truck i traded in, so i got a free weekend with their bridgestones, i left with 4 came back with 2.
HDUSA 12-01-2006, 10:29 AM had mine since feb 06 18000miles did recall and fuel filter only time it was in the shop no towing to speak of mixed driven 17.5 love this truck my old lb7 was trouble free also 130.000miles on her clock
Sammconn 12-04-2006, 09:39 PM 34000 km on mine, no problems. 15K towing 9000 lbs TT:ro)
stemle 12-04-2006, 10:21 PM I've had mine since Mar. It's got 20,000 on it and no problems, just 2 tanks of bad fuel this winter for the first time. I've had to change the fuel filter twice in 1 month. Still runs strong and pulls 20,000 lbs when I hook to my trailer. Knock on wood too, huh!
timowen1 12-04-2006, 10:36 PM 13,000 miles and 6 months no egr problems. Only issue was brake control module went bad. Bought Kennedy blocker plate and Finger stick. decided not to install. read on a web sight, trying to remember where, not recirculating soot and burning it off by recirculation eventually causes unnecessary build up in exhaust and that causes more performance problems. I seen the pics of the low milage intake loaded with soot. I keep reading about CES lights and codes after installing parts and not yet convinced installing blocker plate and stick is the thing to do. Paid $50 plus shipping...anybody want to buy it. PM me
woody240 12-06-2006, 11:23 PM 180 Trouble Free Miles
teabagger2006 12-06-2006, 11:42 PM got 24k on mine no problems except the bald rear tire issue . have a little ply in the stering wheel .hate it
Tow Master 12-07-2006, 01:13 AM 9,000 miles and lovin it.
mccauley444 12-07-2006, 12:40 PM I've got 17,000 miles and no EGR problems either. I don't think that many people had EGR problems, it was more of the same people having repeat problems. Dealers were attempting to clean and not replace them or didn't have them in stock, if I remember correctly. I can tell you this as far as diesel trucks go the D/A rule.:ro)
I had my EGR go out at 12k miles. The stealer told me to drive it until they got the aprt to repalce it in, so I assume I got a new one.
hd90rider 12-07-2006, 05:43 PM 46,000 & no problems.
Mrted775 12-07-2006, 06:13 PM Purchased 2/06. 8000 miles on it now
1. Belt replaced for squeaking @1600 miles
2. Back to dealer @ 6500 miles...belt squeaking again. Re-aligned power steering pulley. Ok so-far
3.Front end has been aligned twice. (Front tires wearing) I've rotated tires 3 times now.
4. Trans-cooling lines replaced (Leaking at the crimps by the radiator)
All above are minor issues to me....This is one awsome truck:rocking:
One year to this day. 13,064 miles and no major problems (knock on wood) other than the dealer replaced the 4 x 4 actuator because it was leaking fluid. For a years time that mileage will be high for me. Subtract the 7340 miles for my western trip and my truck would only have 5724 miles on it. I'M probaly going to average 5 to 6 thousand miles a year. The worst fuel mileage was about 12.5 mpg towing the camper and the best was a little better than 22 mpg. It appears that the fuel mileage is getting better as time goes on. I love that truck, it kicks a#s and pulls like a freight train.
12,500 mile and had the EGR replaced. The truck runs great, I am really glad I bought it.
MRTruck 12-08-2006, 01:54 PM 9400 miles on it with no problems and my foot is steal as heavy as ever on the pedal.
Coolbreeze 12-08-2006, 03:16 PM 7,000 miles in five months. AC pressure switch leaked after a week but no other problems. My favorite truck to date!
