DMAX2DAMAX 07-21-2004, 07:32 PM Has anyone seen this truck b4??
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2485214257&catego ry=13487
king d 07-21-2004, 07:41 PM i scanned over the page twice and i could have missed the part about nos,lp or over sized injects or turbos or ext....i call BULLSHhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gifT.also if you are trying to convince someone it has 700 hp dont say it runs high nines in the 8th
1bad01 07-21-2004, 08:09 PM Maybe he ment to say high 8's, but then again that would still be slow for 700hp. But you never know, those are some big a$$ tires!
baimpala 07-21-2004, 08:13 PM He's also pulling 44's with that thing. That has to slow him down a bit with all that rotational momentum to overcome.
Max Power 07-21-2004, 08:28 PM He has chalks holding the front tires in that burn out. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
Got Juice? 07-21-2004, 08:54 PM Wheel chocks!!!!!
BSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBS
And on what a FACTORY TURBO?
BULLLLLLLLSSSSSHHHIIIIITTTTTT!
Not enough air from a stock turbo to support that!
Maybe from an Twin setup or an hx55....but not on a stocker!
Something smells...and it ain't Max Power either!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
baimpala 07-21-2004, 09:01 PM You smelt it too? I'd like to see the dyno sheets on that one. Probably can't find 'em. Hmmmmm. . . .
Diesel Power 07-21-2004, 09:01 PM yes i call the BS card as well.. i don't even think it looks that good.. did you notice it needs the front driveshaft repaired? OOPS..
DMAX2DAMAX 07-21-2004, 09:15 PM If you look close you can see he wet the surface to get the 44's spinnin!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
White Duramax 07-21-2004, 09:17 PM I have seen this truck in person a couple of times and also going down the road. It is a really nice truck in person. Looks like a lot of time was spent with the lift and other outside accessories. I cant comment however on the power claims and such, I have only looked at it.
Diesel Tech 07-21-2004, 09:18 PM Must be useing PPE's special math for those Hp numbers. Anyone notice it says 5.11 rear axle but no mention if the front axle got changed or not http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
hdmax 07-21-2004, 09:22 PM Did anyone notice that it is a regular cab? I thought they quit building themhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif
Another thing I noticed. He states that the warranty is the remaining, I thought that the 01`s were done with the exception of the injectors. And one look at that truck GM will void thathttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif
I am sure he is adding up all the boxes as they are advertised to get the over 700 hp numbers.
Can I count all of my power boxes? Lets see 300 fwhp 2- 135 stealth boxes, 1- 120 predator, Damn, can I also count the AFE intake and Banks exhaust, because I am still a tad bit shy of 700http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
ATS stage 6 transmission? What did he do? install 2 stage 3 transmission upgrades? And why only 300 miles on it? did he destroy the other one a week or so back?Edited by: hdmax
GMC2500HD 07-21-2004, 09:31 PM Did not know that ATS made a stage 6 transmission....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
hdmax 07-21-2004, 09:42 PM Yea, you stack two three`s.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
I could make my wheel barrow spin on a steel platehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
Anyone else notice that the front differential don't have after market gears? he states that the rear has 5.11`s I thought they would be 5.13`shttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif I say stay clear of that thing, even though it is a GMhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
Under the list of standard equipment, he states that it has a 6.0L That is where he is getting some of that powerhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif 300 hp from each enginehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gifEdited by: hdmax
GMC2500HD 07-21-2004, 09:47 PM It also has a 5 inch body lift.... That is illegal in almost all states. They do not even make a 5 in body lift....Man run the other way....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif
bigblockquad 07-21-2004, 10:07 PM I, for one, believe him. Maybe if I'm lucky Santa will put it under the tree for me. Oh wait...If I lose another tooth maybe the Tooth Fairy will sneak it under my pillow......................
Yeah right.

goin' pullin' 07-21-2004, 11:28 PM I live near and have seen this truck before. I can not back anything he is claiming but the truck was running at the Indy Jamboree last year and it was smoking a light haze of black just idling. Haven't seen much of the Duramax but I truck pull with him, he also has a Dodge.
MatthewEdited by: goin' pullin'
dpower 07-21-2004, 11:46 PM They still make the regular cabs. Other than that this guy is full of BS.

Most likely an injector on the way out http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif
Notice in the second shot the tailgate was partially open? I wonder if it was falling open during the tire spin or he has a partially open position?

If he's using Dave's Diesel stuff, their injectors smoke at idle (by design), and the rest of the numbers make sense for the stuff they sell if he's using claimed output at the flywheel. He's probably around 520hp ground by their numbers, as they go by "track time" to guage ground power instead of a dyno on their custom builds. They do make some narly stuff over there for these motors. Pretty much all custom programs and designs, except for the Edge and a few others. I wouldn't touch that truck anyway, just for all the BS to wade thru on the listing...T
gearhead 07-22-2004, 01:52 PM goin pullin ; where in In. do you live ?
KERMA 07-22-2004, 02:32 PM bigger nozzles on the injectors will cause smoke at idle
Depends which bigger nozzles they are...
Kennedy 07-22-2004, 02:49 PM Properly (and conservatively) done, there's no need for a nozzle that big...
dpower 07-22-2004, 03:34 PM In a truck pulling or drag racing application there is a need for a nozzle that big.....as soon as more air becomes available to use up that extra fuel.
Mackin 07-22-2004, 04:48 PM I'm buying it to go head to head with Mike!
Sounds like a winner.

In a truck pull that truck would last about as long as pants on a French whore at my househttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
And in a race, well lets just say I'd be quicker with that French whorehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
TxDoc 07-23-2004, 12:47 AM Email him thru Ebay and invite him to the forum..http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gif He can scan an post his dyno info, etc.
akdiesel 07-23-2004, 03:38 AM He went through all of that work to make it look good. Why not color match all of the other items like fender flares, bumpers, door handles, and visors.
What could you use this truck for besides having to buy rubber all of the time. I would not want to tow with this thing. Needs better brakes. I don't think he upgraded the power sterring pump. You have to wear hearing protection due to the howling noise from those tires. In my eyes he has a truck that serves no usable purpose what so ever.
"Someone has to look hard to tell that it has a body lift from the rear." As you are going under it.

French whores from Bourbon Street are pretty quick these days (too hot to linger), but I'm sure they're more than a quarter now http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif ...T
GMC2500HD 07-23-2004, 01:46 PM Ok so I email the guy to ask him legitimate questions.
