We have a 1975 Chevy Scottsdale 2500 with an ez dumper on it. It's only 2 wheel drive. I have my old tires from my GMC (265's), and I want to put them on this truck. Is it possible to raise the front end on these older trucks? Do they have torsion bars?

225 I believe. From the way it looks, they will fit though.

There is only one way to find out. Try them on. Its eight lug right. I know Gm built some 3/4 tons with 6 lug but I think that was mainly late 80's and early 90's

Even on an old 2wd 3/4 ton a 265 oughta clear without any trouble. Unless the suspension is completely spanked (it IS a 32 year old work truck), you may even be able to go a little bigger depending on your rims. Alot of these trucks of this generation came with tires similar in size to a 235/85/16, and a 265 isnt much wider and a bit shorter.
The old rigs are also far more forgiving as far as tire fitment, and easier to hack at if needed. Hell i run 44's on my '75 2500 4x4 with only 4 inches of lift with the not afraid to cut attitude. If you gotta trim it a little and you can make it look nice, fubar it and you can either go crazy or buy a new fender for stupid cheap (great feature of the 73-87).
