I was wondering if there was a belt driven air compressor that would bolt right up? Or would the one from the 8.1 work any thoughts or comments on this would be of use. Just want air on board to fill tires exhaust brake and air seats and stuff. Also is this overkill and would an electric unit work fine?

I just want one that bolts up. Just feeling lazy I guess. Looks like a pritty beefy setup though. How does it release pressure that it builds with pump running all the time? Is there a clutch on the pump or does it have a limiting blowoff velve that I didn't see?

it is a clutched pulley....has an inline pressure switch...kicks on when the tank drops to 105 psi...goes back off when the tank gets to 125psi

Looks like he has the York mounted on its side. Doesn't look like a good idea as I know the York compressors have an oil sump which is the reason they work good for on board air. Most other compressors circulate the oil in with the refridgerent so they blow up pretty quick as an air compressor!

If its mouted on its side it wont end up oiling pritty much anything. If its a splash type oiling system anyhow. Thats what I was told anyhow.
