Right when I think ive got it figured out, I end up finding another truck that throws everything off again....

The 2002 crew 4x2 Lariat w/the PSD has 83k miles... The truck inside and out is almost mint, but thats a whole lot of miles for a '02...
My questions:
1. Whats the HP and TQ figures for the 2002 PSD?
2. Would you consider buying this truck (if you were in the market) for $25k...??
and 3, are there any known "issues" with the 2002 PSD?

Now, theres also the 2001 crewcab lariat 4x4 w/the V10.. I dont really need the 4x4, but its hard as heck to find a 2000+ F250 4x2 Crewcab "Lariat" w/ the V10.... Almost all the trucks like that are 4x4's.... Unless I go with an XLT, whick are fine, but I want a Lariat.

So, my questions on this one are:
1. How does this truck compare to the 1st truck?
2. How much power and MPG do you give up with a 4x4 as compared to a 4x2?
3. Is non-use of the 4wheel drive system as bad for it as over use?

Some of these questions may seem pretty lame, but i'm just trying to get as much info as possible....
Thanks!

well. i guess to start with i think the price of the diesel is too high. i bought a 03 crew 4x4 6.0 p.s. lariat with 12k mint for only 32k.

my buddy 7.3 truck totalled out in a wreck and got a v10 ford because he lost his ass on the wreck buy out and he hates it. but, what do you plan on doing with it? he used it in a bussines to pull equipment in southern oh (lots of hills). he needed the pullin power of the diesel was the clear choice. the v10 got the job done fine just at a lot of gashttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif. points i think that r imporant. diesel advantages power, fuel mileage, resale, longevity sound coolhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif disadvantages maintenance costs, stink, expensive option, piss's off the neighborhood (maybe good) noise.

I don't think that 25k is too much for an 02'. The advantages of diesel over gas is something you will be happy with. I know I own a 99 ford diesel.

I don't know why we are digging up 6 month old post but I'll bite. 25k is way too much for an 'o2 with 83k miles. I got my 'o4 Lariet CC PSD in December for 32k with 47 miles, yes brand new. If someone gives me 7k less after I put 80k miles on it, I would consider it near an invesment and would consider buying more.

I got my 2002 crew psd/ auto for 19,500. I'm averaging 16 mpg. This is my first diesel. It's different to drive but I happy with it. I am getting the same mileage as my old 94 f150 with 240K miles on it. It was an unstoppable I6.
