I think that is what it is called. It is the bottom most leaf spring, and does not "arch" as mush as the rest of the leafs. Well on either end of this leaf is a small round "pad" to quiet the slapping it may do when going over bumps, well the front two pads on my truck have fallen off, does anyone have access to apart number??

Thanks!

Buy the insulators from DMAXALLITECH and be done with it. I have lost multiple sets, and have lost none since I have went to the rubber band style. Well worth the measly $15. Eric is great to deal with too...

Nassdmax: how do the rubber band style last? I have put axle grease on all four of my insolators, and so far seem to be holding up. Done about a thousand miles of towing and haven't broke one yet. Everyday driving, their still holding up.
I was looking into getting a set of the o-ring (rubber band style) but wanted to hear about how well they wore/lasted. Do you trailer much/carry heavy loads?

Spring Insert (Plastic) GM# 15604067
Insulators (Rubber Washer) GM# 15053476

You will need four of each.
Total cost about $30

Is your truck under warranty? I talked to the service manager at my dealership. Made a friendly complaint. Told me that whenever I break/lose one, come in and see him. He will take care of me. I went through seven, before my warranty ran out.

The warranty is a pain... I haven't had them on for too long, so I can't comment on long life, but I have lost too many of the OEM pads in just a couple thousand miles towing, it wasn't worth it.

Like Modified posted, $15 is less than $30, especially if there always falling off.

The ones from Dmaxallitech are great, I've been running mine for a while now. The shipping scam however is not, I paid for 2nd day UPS ( I was REALLY tired of the noise) and got them a week later via USPS. They're still worth it though...

I put mine about 2 inches in from the hole for the OEM pads.

Just to let you know my experience. I took my truck to my normal dealer told them about TSB. They reinstalled the factory type. 6000 miles later they were gone agin. This time I specifically had them order the TSB parts. They reinstalled original parts. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

6000 miles later I went to a new dealer. Right away they installed the TSB parts/ large boots over ends of springs. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

1000 miles later truck still makes noise? Not as often. Only noticable with windows down traveling on gravel/bumpy roads at about 10-25 MPH. Has a new squeak as well. Edited by: Bronco

Ty, did you order them from me like that? If you paid for 2nd day and didnt get them that fast, let me know via PM, I owe you a refund/credit then

I would replace the plastic disks with the band style like i have, they dont wear, fall off, break, nothing. Put them on just inside of the holes left by the OE and your never gonna worry about it again, IF they do fall off and you put them on the inside of the hole, I will replace it for you, FREE.

I went to the Dollar Store. bought a package of "Adhesive Skid Protector" by E-Clips. For a dollar you get twelve, 1" square, 1/4" thick adhesive backed rubber pads.

I cleaned the area of the spring where the old pads were and pasted a pad in each of the spots (4 spots).

No noise! Maybe GM should go to the Dollar Store.Edited by: JohnnyO

I did the install just past the hole as DMAXALLITECH said. That was just my gut feeling and I am glad to hear that is what Eric says as well. Great guarantee Eric!
