After burying my truck with stock tires yasterday(no pics)I am thinking about 285/75/16 BFG mud terrains load range E on stock wheels. I know i have to crank the T bars and do an allignment. How do they ride , handle and wear? Thanks for the help.

There is no 285 mud terrain in "e" range...just the all -terrain. But if you rotate them often and don't abuse them on the street they wear ok. You will definitely get more miles out of the all terrain though. The ride can be a bit squirmy the first few thousand miles but they handle ok. Just not that great in the wet.

they suck in the wet, ride like crap, wear alot faster then the all terrains, but darn they look good. until they get half tread, then they really ride like crap! if you are on road more, buy the all terrains!

ya they are good tires but do suck in the rain and if you tow alot then i wouldn't get them they didn't do good for me but i tuffed it out and still got 40K out of them but then i wasn't to concerned with the ride i didn't have the money replace them anyways

I like the way the BFG M/T's look but I haven't heard the best about them if you do a lot of road driving. I personally love my Toyo M/T's. I only have about 1k on them but they aren't to loud and seam to handle good in most conditions. They might be a little bit more $$$, I'm not sure, but they are an E rated tire and I have heard nothing but good things about them. Just a thought.

I have had them on my truck for 25k miles now. The comment about rain traction is correct. Think of the bright side though - they won't hydroplane ;) They ride okay. I have actually had a few passenger mention how well they ride on the highway. The key is to rotate them often. I think I have done it four times. The last time I could tell it was getting past due.
I'm looking for some new tires and may consider other brands but for a mud tire, BFG's are surely near the top in mud traction, longevity and overall ride quality. Oh, and they look mean too!
And... you know what they say... you might not need them often but they sure are nice when you do.
I ran a 14.85 at 92+ mph at the track yesterday. All of the guys were having a hard time hooking up but me :D
