: New H2 Takeoffs for 2500HD
babyfacedavid 07-21-2004, 12:35 AM I just found the deal of a lifetime that took my truck from nice to SWEET! For $550 I got brand new H2 Tires and Wheels (with center caps that I didn't use) and now my truck is now awesome! It was cheaper than buying new tires for my stock wheels http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif. My brother got a set of these too, but I don't have a picture of his yet. See pics...

babyfacedavid 07-22-2004, 01:37 AM Hey everyone. Due to the large quantity of interest in H2 takeoffs, I've created a web site (http://www.lunarhalo.com/takeoffs) to help everyone with finding and purchasing these tires in their area. I've also included detailed information on how to make the modification on Chevy's.

babyfacedavid 07-24-2004, 01:00 PM Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you all have an update on the H2 takeoff situation. I just got a commitment for 3 new sets from my supplier, in South Georgia. For those who are interested in picking up a set, please get with me ASAP to arrange everything. If you are interested in having a set shipped, it will be Tuesday before I can figure out logistics on that. However, if you have your own shipping method, let me know.
Thanks, I'll be in touch - Dave
dieselboostfreak 07-29-2004, 01:16 AM Hey,
What size tires are these? Also, do the run any?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
killerbee 07-29-2004, 06:11 PM In your tutorial, you write "I've read that you may want to replace the OEM shocks. I've read that Rancho RS9000 series and Bilstiens are a good choice, though I haven't tried yet."
You should let people know to expect a radically different ride when maxing the torsion bars, there is no downtravel left, the shock is topped out sitting in the driveway (which will soon self destruct from topout failure) If you put 315's on, you will have a nasty ride until you replace the oem shocks with longer ones, or modify the mounts of the existing ones. (see some posts I have done) Without these mods, the ride is so bad you can't talk in the truck, nor can you keep your foot on the gas without flooring it. This is from my experience (in depth research also).
Also, the rears will run comfortably at 30-35 psi (empty) comfortably and that turns out to be even tire wear for this rig. front at 45.
No doubt that H2 takeoffs are a deal, and it can be done, but know what you are getting into, there is more involved to this change.
Wickedsprint 07-29-2004, 08:15 PM Was that for 4 or 5? I just picked up a set of 5 for just about the same price...installing them tonight :)
ChevyHDGert 07-30-2004, 08:56 AM Can you get them in chrome?
Denial 08-02-2004, 03:30 PM I've got a set of 4 chrome H2 wheels for $400 total. They are still in the shipping boxes, though I'd rather sell to someone nearby than ship them. I am in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
Let me know.
Po' riggity 08-04-2004, 08:39 PM 500 bucks for H2 rims and tires.. if Only I had the money right now. Im local to OC too! :(

babyfacedavid 08-06-2004, 01:53 PM I don't have any chrome sets. I'm checking with chrome shops to get prices. Thanks for asking!
ratlover 08-06-2004, 02:21 PM Denial, incoming PM
Lonewolf867 08-11-2004, 04:02 PM Babyface,
Can you still get another set of wheels and tires?
Shoot me an email at lonewolf867@atvnation.com
acehi 08-15-2004, 05:37 AM Ok, I have been reading up on all these posts for the H2 takeoffs. I am really interested in a set of the wheels (chrome) and tires. It would be nice to have a set of 5 for a spare. I live in Alaska and I cannot find anyone up here that has them, or at least has them under $2000. Is there anyone that can ship a set to me for a decent price? I have seen several people get them for $500 all the way up to $1000. If anyone has a set that they can sell for the $500 price range and add shipping of maybe $200 I would still be happy.
If nobody can do this, I will be driving down to Califonia in late November. Would anyone be willing to hold on to a set for me and I will pick up? I will be in the San Francisco area.
Thanks, Jeff
cadent45 08-16-2004, 10:51 PM You can contact Prestige Products in Commerce, CA. They do upgrades for Hummer dealers and usually have a pretty good supply of "take-offs" with less than 100 miles. I bought 5 wheels and tires, 4 of them were chrome for $1,100. I could have bought 4 wheels and tires, not chrome for $550.

dieselboostfreak 08-20-2004, 11:53 PM Do you guys think that you can fit 35's on the stock rims and not scrub really bad? I know they arent wide enough but, lets just pretend. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
ChevyHDGert 08-23-2004, 08:43 AM I just saw a 2500HD the other day with 315's on the stock rims but he also had a Ranch Hand full replacement bumper.
PTownZ71 over at fullsizechevy.com has 315's on his HD with stock rims.
TheBac 08-23-2004, 09:35 PM 315'2 on 16x6 1/2" wide wheels?!? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif Thats awful thin. I'd have to think real hard before I did that. If I go that big, they'll be on 16x8's minimum.

babyfacedavid 09-16-2004, 06:25 PM Who wants these tires/wheels with the wheels chromed? If so, how much are you willing to pay. I've called all over creation and I don't know if I'm going to be able to deliver any for a price that is actually attractive. Chrome is EXPENSIVE!
Let me know,
David
