Today I replaced my internal and external oil filters in my trans. First I drop my trans pan to have the internal filter layiny in it loosely and not up inside where it belongs. Not good. So I replace that filter and put the trans pan back on. then I go to take off the external filter and that was way to tight I really had to grab it with a big and I mean big piar of channel locks and crank on it. I had the dealler about a year ago flush the tranny and do a BG Service to it and at that time they replaced the external filter and put it on way to tight. I was told there was no reason with that service to change the internal filter but I didn't trust that and replaced it any way.
Has anyone else ever seen their internal filter not seated right when they dropped their trans pan? I t doesn't make me feel to good nothing like adding more power to your engine and decreacing the trans oiling capabilty.

May or may not be a common problem for the Allison. If you install a deep pan, you do need a FilterLok for the longer filter. Available from Mike L. of Inglewood Trans. on the west coast and Eric at Merchant Automotive on the east side. They are for safety, security, and piece of mind...
