What could be causing me to get a (shift range inhibited) message when going into reverse or first gear from a stop? I have been running the Edge on level 5-6 for about two weeks, but have always run the safety features. I haven't limped the trans. to my knowledge. I've not gotten the common signs of limping it. Do you think the message is related to the trans being limped? It seems odd to me that I get the message when under no load in the driveway. I haven't gotten a SES light just the message on the DIC. Thanks for any help!

I was lazy earlier and didn't enter enough info in the search area.Put in (shift range inhibited) and you will have all kinds of reading. Seems that there are some switches in the ignition area that causes this.

you mean the NSBU switch??? if so I believe it is located closer to the tranny than the ignition...
