Congrats on the new ride! Looks like you bought it at Lenz. I bought a 1998 Chevy 1500 X-cab Z-71 from them back in 2000 and had good luck dealing with Brad. I shopped them again before I bought my new 2006 LBZ as well. Are you the same Duckguy on tmcowners.com? Have a good one!

Good looking truck. I also bought my 2500 from Lenz Autos and had a great experience with Brad. I have a cabin in Minocqua and a home in Waukesha. I'm in Waukesha most of the time but anyways, looks great!

Where in Waukesha do you live? I was born and raised in Waukesha(Merrill Crest Subdivision off of Madison Street) and moved to Minocqua 5 years ago. It was the best move I could make.:D

Duckguy......I like the tires. I had the dealer put BFG All Terrain 285's on mine before they delivered it to me. The stock car tires look funny on these trucks in my opinion. 265s or 285s look much better in my opinion. How loud are the Mud Terrains on the road? I like the agressive look of them, but would worry about the noise since the Dmax is so quiet.

How about a Diesel Place gathering in Minocqua sometime?

Hey Dat.....did you ever get the ride figured out on your truck? The last I knew you weren't thrilled with the ride with the 285s and the bars cranked.

No, I have not gotten it figured out. I have been too busy at work to really mess around with anything. I have towed my boat and 4 place snowmobile trailer more and I think I am just getting used to the ride compared to the Dodge. I will be towing my snowmobile trailer more in the next few months so that will be the true test. Thanks for asking;)

If you offroad they would be a good choice, but they can be noisy, and wear faster than most. Look to see if they are E rated 10 ply ...need these if towing...if you drive mostly paved roads...ask if they could switch to Michelin LTX's (E rated 10ply)

Hey dat how we looking for sleddin up there

Conditions are TERRIBLE:mad:

I was able to ride on Sunday near Rockland, MI in the Western U.P.. We drove through good snow to get to Twin Lakes which was our original destination. The trails around Twin Lakes were junk so we filled up the sleds and headed back South. We parked on a side road, took the sleds off the trailer and a Michgan State Trooper showed up. He wanted to know how the riding was, but we hadn't ridden yet. The conversation then turned to diesel trucks and he complimented me on my truck. He has a 97 Powerstroke, but is looking for a Chevy. He was a cool guy and we talked for about 30 minutes before he took off. I am guessing he was really bored. It was our first ride of the year and we just wanted to make sure the sleds were going to run well. We ended up with about 30 miles on the trails and forest roads, but it must have been hunting season as there were trucks everywhere in the woods.

Monday we trailered up to Hurley for the Wisconsin trail opener and we were tricked into thinking the trails were nice. They were snow covered and looked great, but the base was too thin. Underneath the thin base was all ROCK. The carbides took a beating and again we only rode about 30 miles with a little drag racing mixed in. One guy riding with us had to get back to Milwaukee so it was another short day-30 miles or so.

I woke up this morning to rain and most of our snow is now gone. I am leaving town and won't be able to ride until Dec. 30th so hopefully things change by then. It would be great to have a sled gathering sometime

That's unfortunate to hear. It is really foggy here. I am so fed up with the lack of snow I am going to sell my sleds. I could buy more goose decoys then. Happy Holidays.

Any ice left on the lakes up that way? I gotta go to my in-laws for the holidays so that means I will hopefully spend a lot of time on the ice looking for walleyes.

I just talked to a guy that was on the Minocqua chain and he said there is still 6" of solid ice with a little water on top. I was surprised to hear it was not all slush. Good luck fishing and don't fall in;)

My in-laws live in Hayward. We used to have a cabin up there but with a three year old and a 1 year old it is to long in the car to get up there often. I get up that way maybe three times a year now. Duck and goose seasons pretty much take up all of the free time and this year I haven't been able to do that enough. It's not fun getting old.

I have the twin to your truck with a few extras. Mine has 285 BFG's with the bars bumped up (rides like stock), tint and those black handles painted to match the truck. So far I have been very pleased with it. If you are thinking about any of these mods I will get some pics up.

There is no slot on the lake that I will be fishing on. Lots of northerns though. It makes coyote hunting a little more fun.
