I had a shop weld in a straight 3.5" pipe in place of the factory muffler today. The turbo spools quite a bit quicker and the truck seem to accellerate more effortlessly now on the highway.

Overall, I like it. It is barely louder than stock. It is mainly a deeper burble at idle and a bit more bark at WOT. The EGT's are lower now too.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

REPLACED MY MUFFLER W/4INCH PIPE ALL THE WAY BACK. HELPED A LITTLE WITH SPOOL UP TIME, SOUNDS THE SAME EXCEPT AT IDLE. GOING TO REPLACE FRNT SECTION W/ A LB7 PIPE W/NO CAT. HOPE IT SOUNDS NICE AND LOUD. THE FACTORY CAT HAS TO BE REALY RESTRICTIVE TO QUITE THE EXHAUST DOWN THAT MUCH. ITS A CHEAP UPGRADE FOR SURE.

you guys are luckly. I put on a 4" system turbo back, and with out the CAT my engine light would come on. I had to put the CAT back on to turn the light off.
