Don't know torque at the wheels, but it's about 400 at the flywheel. No need to hang on or to wear a seatbelt. It was for the 1999 model year, but was cut from the line-up when GM decided to go with the Isuzu Duramax. gmctd 07-21-2004, 12:51 PM L56 has EGR, is lower of power ratings. 1500, some 2500. L65 is HD, no EGR . Some 2500, all 3500. 215hp version never made it into production - no room for front-mounted charge air cooler.
