stalled 4 times last summer kinda pissed me off so decided to look in to it . found that it only happend under really warm condisions .of coarse its mounted in the engine compartment so instead of trying to relocate into cab i put a cpu fan and heat sink on it and hasent stalled yet.

Most likely there are certain components that have degraded in your box. Heat does accelerate that process. Regardless, you might get stalling again.

When Edge releases the fix to these shutdown issues I recommend you let them warranty your current box.

I had a stalling issue also and traced it down to the module getting wet. I relocated it to inbetween the battery and fuse box and put it in a plastic bag and it has yet to stall since. Its been about 4 months so far.

A heat sink works by by transferring heat down a gradient, ie hotter to colder. The folks at Edge informed me that the heat problem was due to the hot underhood temps, not from the Edge box itself generating too much heat.

So, unless you can lower your underhood temps below that of the Edge box, the heat sink is not helping. Now, if the Edge guys are wrong, then the heatsink is a good idea.

I've been using a heatshield around the Edge box. But, who knows?

Mine shut down twice this summer so I unhooked it. Now that it is winter here (-20 deg C), I have reinstalled it and have had no problems. It has been about 2 weeks.
