The truck should come from the factory with this tune! I opted to purchase a reprogrammed ECM from Steve vs sending my ECM in to be reprogrammed, mainly for warranty reasons and also didn’t want to disable my truck while waiting for mine to be reprogrammed. Previously I tried the TST, Predator and the Hot Juice on my 02, then I tried the Quad module on my LLY, I do not have gauges, dyno numbers or drag strip time but I am somewhat familiar with how the LLY and LB7's drive and perform on a day to day basis under varying conditions. The LB7 Hot Juice seemed to have a surge of power when the boost came up, very sensitive to throttle input but the trans did not have a consistent smooth shift, some times it would shake your fillings on the 2-3 shift although it never limped the trans, all in all a great module for towing. The LB7 TST ran great but my stock Allison could not take the power and it limped a few times in 5th. The LB7 Predator was the initial release and really did not compare to either the TST or the Juice. Regarding the LLY Quad, the low setting was by far the better of the 3 tunes. It worked reasonably well when I towed with it, however I did not care for the turbo lag, shift quality, or the inconsistent and some times surgy power delivery on the 90 and 120hp tunes. Depending on t/h or normal mode the truck seemed lazy or unresponsive at times until the boost came up. After 60 miles unloaded with the TTS tow tune installed here are some quick observations and opinions based on my experiences with my truck using my arse meter, so take it for what it’s worth!

Pros http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock On.gif
Very smooooooth linear feel to the power band, no rush or surge as boost builds, builds boost at a much lower rpm.
Turbo seems louder at low rpms
Turbo lag at low rpms is all but eliminated.
Excellent throttle response at lower rpms, similar to that of a gasser.
Trans shifts great, minimal learning curve(or is my right foot learning to help the Allison learn as quickly as possible?)
Light smoke or haze at WOT
No defueling or power drop offs at shifts

Cons –
4 week deliveryhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif Worth the wait? Yes, but frustrating nonetheless, my customers receive product the next day.

Great tune Steve!

The quad also limped my engine at WOT, 5th gear in level 2 and 3.

Hope you enjoy your TTS product as much as I do mine. The 3-way Powerloader works flawlessly on my truck (LB7) and I have not had any issues. It just works. Imagine that.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif

I previously had the Edge installed and suffered through the occasional no start situation.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Broken Heart.gif I sometimes get the itch to re-install the Juice/Attitude to play around with the Attitude monitor (a pretty cool device). I have not done so yet. I guess it is safe now to send the Juice back to get it fixed. Probably need to do that someday.

how has the tts affected your fuel mileage? i am considering either the edge or tts. i do tow fairly often, no more than 10K. i would like to see my mileage pulling my 28 ft enclosed increase. when i pull my 24 ft tag open the mileage isnt nearly as bad. any info is greatly appreciated. wil

Will,

I use my truck mainly on the weekends for pulling either a travel trailer or a boat/seadoo trailers. Both the Edge and TTS bump the injection timing a little bit and that will lead to a small increase in mileage. I have gotten an increase of 0.5 to 1.0 miles per gallong using either of the two you mention. For me, the main advantage of either unit is the reduced amount of 5th gear to 4th gear downshifting while towing. The truck holds 5th gear virtually all the time (we have more hills/mountains to climb here in Calif versus Indiana, so that may not be an issue for you).

I believe Edge has fixed their No Start problem now. You will be happy with either unit. From my perspective, the Edge is more of a mainstream unit and the Attitude monitor is a cool electronic gadget, while the TTS ECM reflash is more of a custom device.
