Just got my new rims and tires installed today. They are ProComp 107 US strykers with Nitto Terra Grappler 285/65/R18s E load rating. Did the Ready Lift leveling kit also. Had to trim the front valance a bit but still rubbing on the inner fender well. The backspacing on the rims is 4.5 inches and I realize that stock is 4.78 but I figured that the 4.5 would give me a little bit more room on the inner fenders. Guess I was wrong. Any help with the inner fender well mods would be much appreciated:help: . I will post pics tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

How wide are your wheels? What is the Offset?

You will have to zip tie the inner fender and the park brake cable away from the tire.

The wheels are 9" wide with 4.5" backspacing. I understand about the zip tieing, just dont know how or where you are zip tieing to. Any pics would be helpful.

When I had the Nitto 325/60R18's on a 9.5" rim, I had to actually trim the liner in front and back of the wheel with a blade, then I had to tie the parking brake cable back some. It's the width that kills you.....

Unfortunately tire stores don't always give enough information about their wheels to allow the buyer to make a properly informed decission. Knowing the backspace alone does not always give you enough information.

The biggest problem I see is that those new wheels have too little offset (-13mm) which will push the tires/wheels way out. The OEM wheels have +28mm offset.

Compared to the OEM tires and wheels, your new Package will stick out 61 mm (2.4'') farther than the OEM setup. That makes it harder to get adequate clearance to the fender.

You can play around HERE (http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp) to check your fitment.

Put the OEM information on the left side and the new info on the right.
OEM
Tires: 245/75R-16
Wheels: 16" x 6.5" (Offset: +28mm)

Take a heat gun and make clearance where you need it on the inner fenders. Saws and a hammer and dolly block is the only way to clear the sheet metal. BTW, there are two tabs with holes in them behind the E-Cable to tie it back.

i just took my inner fender wells out, it looks pretty good, surprisingly the engine doesnt collect any mud or anything, only thing you have to do is cover the bottom of the fuse box above the left fender.

Anyone have any pics of the zip tie mods to the inner fenders? Would be helpful to see it before doing it. Thanks in advance

When I put the 285's on my LLY, I had to pull the driver's inner fenderwell towards the fire wall.
If you pull the plastic fenderwell back, you will find the e-brake cable and a couple of eyelets. The eyelets are where the e-brake cable is supposed to go. I just tied my e-brake cable to those, drilled 4 small holes in the fenderwell around the e-brake cable and then used the zip ties to hold the fenderwell to the e-brake cable. No more rubbing problems after I was done, might want to give that a try.

Thanks BigStu but my real problem is more toward the bumper side of the inner fender wells. Doesnt seem to be rubbing toward the cab. Any suggestions?

in that area i cut about 2" off of the bottom of that liner to keep from rubbing. and it hung down past my bumper so it looked bad

just watch out because the horns are right in front and mine have been clogged with mud for a while now
