Does your ses light come on when you limp. The reason i ask is because several times when in 5th gear i think it has gone into limp. When this happens it won't go over 2000rpm, then after a few seconds it will. But no ses light? Any body know whats happening?

Sometimes its hard to get an answer around here, don't be discouraged. I honestly dont have the answer to your question. I limped my stock trans 1 million times, thats right, a million. But, everytime the CEL came on, I could limp it at will, and every time the light came on.

Sometimes, if you are having trouble getting anyone to answer, it is because the answer to your question can easily be found with the search function. It might take a little digging and you may even have to read some, but the answers are usually there already.

It's Thanksgiving weekend and people are out of town visiting or having fun with their familys. Try and understand.
If your trans limps it will set a CEL. When's the last time you changed your fuel filter?

You get a ses light, and "Shift Range Inhibited" on the info center, i have 2 under my belt, and the 2nd time was taking more power than the 1st time. I wounder if its cuz i switched to TRANSYND FLUID?????????

Less chance of limp with TranSynd as it bites better. TranSynd actually allows more holding power than Ford type F fluid which has been one of the best atf fluids for drag racing.

I heard its good stuff! Im done w/over powering the tranny, but im still getting 0-1% slip on 5th lockup, on my tranny slip. Allison says thats normal, cuz you cant have 100% lockup for very long! Is this true? Still will hold 80hp, slowly laying into it.

There is nothing in the Alli that will stop you from going over 2K rpm more than once before total disaster. You are then on a flatbed.

How about this?...Whenever I limped the trans in my '02, IT WAS NOT SUBTLE and the CEL light came on...You will know when it is a transmission limp...As it was suggested, try a fresh fuel filter and see if that fixes your problem...Enjoy your weekend...

the fuel filter has 4000 miles on it. so is there such a thing as the engine limping?

yes there is, but it too would normally set the light. do a search on engine limp.

You could have a load of bad fuel that plugged the filter. Mileage on the filter doesn't really matter in that case.

Changing the filter would at least eliminate that as the source of the problem.
