Details, I have a 02 D/A 4WD around 70,000 miles. AFE stage 2 intake and a 4in exhaust from the trubo back. My injectors haven't given me any problems yet.

Problem, just the other day when I was outside my pickup I heard it "hiccup" or it sounds like someone just tapped the gas pedel. What is this? injectors?

PS awhile back I went hunting for a weekend, checked everything out under the hood before I left and when I got back I noticed that the plastic thing that connects onto the arm of the air intake was sitting off. Its the plastic piece with the "6.6 duramax" or something like that wrote on it, I dont know what purpose it serves but it got knocked off sometime. I did a lot of driving on dirt roads. Could this cause the problem?

the plastic piece that you are refering to is in case your air filter gets to clogged, it is where makeup air can get in. just put it back into place

If your air filter gets clogged, your engine isnt going to start drawing off your resonator, there's no intake there...
